DESCRIPTION
IBM held its first SmartCamp event in July in Germany. It was also the first SmartCamp with a specific focus on Big Data and Business Analytics. Keynote Speaker Philippe Souidi, Founder of echofy.me and tecpunk, summarized this topic perfectly when he called Big Data the “Oil of the next Century”… fitting, isn’t it?

Big Data: when your data sets become so large that you have to start innovating how to collect,

We are living in an internet world where everybody can be connected and where the information
people have is bigger than a single machine. So, to be able to analyze it you need tools that can
operate on multiple machines and operate efficiently. We are coming to an age where NP-
complete doesn‘t matter any more an linear algorithm can‘t scale at a certain level.

For time-sensitive processes such as catching fraud, big data must be used as it streams into your
enterprise in order to maximize its value.
Enterprises are awash with ever-growing data of all types, easily
amassing terabytes—even petabytes—of information.
Big data is data that exceeds the processing capacity of conventional database systems. The data is too
big, moves too fast, or doesn’t fit the strictures of your database architectures. To gain value from this
data, you must choose an alternative way to process it.
‣Turn 12 terabytes of Tweets created each day into improved product sentiment analysis‣Convert 350 billion annual meter readings to better predict power consumption
‣Scrutinize 5 million trade events created each day to identify potential fraud‣Analyze 500 million daily call detail records in real-time to predict customer churn faster
Big data is any type of data - structured and unstructured data such as text, sensor data, audio, video, click streams, log files and
more. New insights are found when analyzing these data types
together.
‣Monitor 100’s of live video feeds from surveillance cameras to target points of interest‣Exploit the 80% data growth in images, video and documents to improve customer satisfaction

... Patent on predicting the Future?
Procedure and system to predict events
The present invention relates to a system for predicting events, e.g. natural events such as earthquakes
Code of parameters can all be measured and / or observable animal-specific data, such as brain wave…air temperature, …geographic location...
After the system has learned the normal behavior of individual animals it can distinguish normal and abnormal behavior
…each measuring component comprises a wireless device bolted to the head of an animal to measure/record brain wave voltages….
….each event includes a processing device, and a first memory for storing the individual behavior profiles and a second memory for storing data link, with abnormal behavior pattern by which information onEvents are linked.
