Youth and mediaSECOND APPROACH: UNREALTv series as “Friends”, “Beverly Hills” etc. create an unreal
vision of the youth.Parents are reassured by these fake models but at the
same time youth are illuded and disilluded.
Youth and media Few cases, especially in cinema, face
the reality of teenagers problems.
Youth and media Trainers and social workers use often such kind of
movies to speak about youth trouble or youth potentialities.
Interculturality No representation of interculturality in cinema or
tv. Artificial inclusion of foreigners in shows.
Interculturality Interculturality is developed especially in radio and
music events.
Interculturality Interculturality starts to be a very important subject
in schools and educational sector.
Citizenship Youth is represented by media as reluctant
element of representativity in politics or citizenship awareness.
Citizenship Youth active citizenship moved from local to
global.
Citizenship Young people feel more often as citizen of the world
then citizen of a single country. They act together and use new forms of communication.
Consequences Because of the negative representation of youth
on the media young people nowadays decide to use alternative ones to assert themselves.
