CREDENTIALS
Foundation Programs (two to three semesters) Our foundation certificates allow you to gain or upgrade the skills you need to pursue further studies. These programs will help you build a portfolio and hone your skills.
Certificates (two to three semesters) One-year certificates allow you to establish a foundation of knowledge in a given field or upgrade your skills in your current career.
Apprenticeships (three to five years) Apprenticeships give you the opportunity to learn an in-demand skill in a variety of fields. We help get you ready for the workplace through the in-school training component.
Diplomas (four to six semesters) Our career-focused diplomas are designed to give you specialized knowledge, enabling you to be work-ready when you graduate.
Bachelor’s Degrees (four years) Our honours bachelor’s degrees give you the ideal balance of theoretical knowledge and practical, career-oriented experience. We combine the highest academic standards with exceptional work and clinical placements.

Get the Credit You DeserveAre you a Transfer Student?You are a transfer student if you have completed or partially completed a program at a college or university and wish to continue your studies at Humber.
As a transfer student, you can follow one of three paths:
Transfer InYou want to transfer credits or credentials from another college or university or apply for credit based on prior work or life experience.
Transfer WithinYou are a Humber student or graduate wanting to transfer credits or a completed credential into another Humber program.
Transfer OutIf you’re looking to advance your education beyond Humber with another credential, Humber has transfer agreements with many postsecondary institutions throughout Canada and abroad.
Transfer CreditsIf you have completed a similar course at another recognized postsecondary institution, you may be eligible to receive transfer credit(s) toward your Humber program. Use our step-by-step guide and online database to get you started.
Diploma to Degree Block Transfer CreditComplete your degree with us in less time. Graduates of Humber’s many Ontario college diploma programs may be eligible for block transfer credit into one of Humber’s bachelor’s degree programs.*
Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR)PLAR is designed to recognize relevant learning acquired through life and work experience and translate this learning into college credit.

* Graduates of similar Ontario diplomas may also be eligible for block transfer credit into a Humber degree program if their diploma program has the same program learning outcomes as the Humber diploma. HUMBER-SENECA POLYTECHNIC PARTNERSHIP
The Humber-Seneca Polytechnic Partnership (HSPP) promotes co-operation and collaboration between Humber College and Seneca College while enhancing and expanding learning opportunities for students at both institutions.
Through the HSPP, we are identifying potential transfer pathways between diplomas and degrees at both Humber and Seneca. This partnership will also include joint efforts on developing and planning programs, creating shared curriculum and expanding program offerings. Leveraging our combined strengths as providers of comprehensive polytechnic education, we’ll work with Seneca to provide you with broader options and greater access to world-class education.

FOUNDATION PROGRAMS
Our foundational pathways get you ready for postsecondary education and help you make an informed choice.
Art Foundation This program offers you a comprehensive foundation in the basics of visual arts. Working in a studio environment, you’ll explore the creative process with different types of media.
Design FoundationThis program gives you the skills to put yourcreative flair and interest in visual arts into focus. Train in professional design with a diverse curriculum that features courses in interior, graphic and industrial design.
Media Foundation With small class sizes and expert instruction in design, writing and computer skills, this program is an excellent stepping stone to more specialized media career training.
GENERAL ARTS AND SCIENCE
If your goal is to earn a full diploma and go on to degree-level studies, Humber’s General Arts and Science — University Transfer diploma program is a great choice for you. There are more than 25 degree programs offered at Humber where you can continue your studies.
College or University Transfer (two or four semesters)Prepare for further study at college or university with a program combining humanities, math and science courses with instruction in academic writing and critical thinking skills. After four semesters, you may gain advanced standing in degree programs at Humber and other institutions.
Pre-Health Sciences Pathway to Advanced Diplomas and Degrees (two semesters)If you’re interested in a career in health sciences, this program will help you build the basic science and mathematics knowledge you’ll need. You’ll learn writing and critical thinking skills along with foundational knowledge of biology, chemistry, anatomy and physiology.
Technology (two semesters)Gain important background knowledge in physics, chemistry, computer applications, AutoCAD and math, coupled with academic writing and critical thinking.

Working together for the greater good of the community.Before enrolling in the Bachelor of Community Development program at Humber, Richard graduated with honours from the Social Service Worker program at another college and was awarded the Practicum Excellence Award.
“Prior to working and studying in the community services sector, I was a chef for more than ten years, working in restaurants and running my own catering business. I graduated from Humber’s Culinary Skills program in 2003.
As much as I loved creating in the kitchen, I did not feel fulfilled and wanted to serve the community. I decided to change careers and go back to school, which was by far the best decision I’ve made in my life.
As someone who currently works as a Youth Facilitator at a local agency, I know the issues that affect the community first-hand. I really appreciate how the Bachelor of Community Development program challenges us by addressing those issues and encourages us to work collectively towards finding solutions. I am also extremely grateful
for our in-class experience and our professors that are always supportive by giving us the tools and skills necessary to create change in the real world. Students are encouraged to work together for the greater good of the community. For the past few years, my program has worked together on numerous campaigns including, Chew on This! — Dignity for All, focusing on eradicating poverty in Canada. As my classmates and I enter third year, we will have the opportunity to choose our 14-week field placement where we will get to experience work in a real-life setting.
All the courses in our program are essential to our learning, but one class that I found important was a course called Group Dynamics, where we learned how to work with others in a diverse setting.”

“I’m currently a Bachelor of Public Relations student and a graduate of the Advertising and Marketing Communications diploma at Humber. The first program I completed at Humber was so rewarding because it allowed me to learn more about myself and helped me find specific strengths in an industry that requires versatile skills.
It was clear to me that my strongest skill set was in communications, so I decided to pursue a degree in public relations to further enhance my abilities in this field. My favourite aspect of the public relations program is the real-life experiences the program offers. All of our assignments are based on real situations or involve real clients, which is invaluable for our portfolios.
Our program gave us the opportunity to create an internal communications plan for the Theatre Museum of Canada and helped craft marketing tools for the Humber Resource Centre.
The network on campus, the skilled industry-relevant professors, and the services provided by Humber are priceless and open many opportunities throughout your career. Whether I’m volunteering, visiting a networking event, or at a job interview, Humber PR is often talked about positively in conversation.
As an avid member of Humber College’s student community, I am also a part-time employee. One of my roles involves student engagement in Humber Athletics where I’m able to motivate and encourage students through my passion for health, fitness and recreation. My other position at Humber is with a student-operated organization called Building F: Centre for Creative Business Collaboration. Building F brings marketers and agencies together with students across all programs in order to produce strategic creative content and technological solutions; they’re the hub for client-student projects. This job allows me to enhance my relationships with students and faculty at Humber while also helping provide programs with real client-based initiatives.”

Humber is the first public college or polytechnic in Canada to adopt the Okanagan Charter, an International Charter for Health Promoting Universities and Colleges.
The Humber Food Learning Garden is a collaborative project by Humber’s Arboretum and Centre of Innovation in Health & Wellness where students and the local community learn about local food harvesting, sustainable agriculture, food security, and healthy living.
Humber’s North Campus Massage Therapy Clinic offers appointments to anyone — faculty, staff, students and members of the public with students in the Massage Therapy program.
Humber was the first Canadian college to introduce Mamavaproviding a private space to pump or breast/chestfeedon campus.
The Tzu Chi Clinic of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) provides a unique healthcare option to students and staff. Humber TCM students perform procedures supervised by professional, registered practitioners.

Explore different cultures and learn from new perspectives through global learning opportunities.Along with eight other students from the Media Communications program, Nithya jumped on the opportunity to travel to China to capture different surroundings, explore unfamiliar cultures and discover new friendships on the other side of the globe.
“Shenzhen Polytechnic provided spaces for us to collaborate, plan and discuss how we could combine our efforts to create a collaborative multimedia piece. We spent the week sharing authentic Chinese meals and adventurous experiences both across campus and around the city of Shenzhen, all while capturing photos and video from both points of view to generate content for our shared multimedia piece.
What I found most rewarding about the experience were the connections we forged with both the students and faculty of Shenzhen Polytechnic. Although we didn’t necessarily share a common language, educational system, or background — we found more commonalities than I think any of us could have anticipated. Overcoming communication and cultural barriers only to find out how similar our humour, passions and dreams really are was one of the most fulfilling parts of the cultural exchange experience. The hospitality and overwhelming generosity we received is something I hope to carry with me and emulate in any future cross-cultural experiences in my career.”

Improving the lives of students within the Humber community.Students like Monica enjoy learning about the various aspects of business and the opportunities to apply their learning through case studies and group work.
“Across the college, you can see the efforts Humber makes to help build a strong sense of community. What I value most about Humber are the people. Meeting diverse people of different characters, backgrounds, religions and ethnicities always makes for great and memorable conversations.
In supporting these efforts, I am the president of the IGNITE Student Union. IGNITE and Student Wellness & Accessibility Centre (SWAC) strive to make the life of students easier and enhance their experience on campus. Some of our efforts include supporting overall student health and wellness by providing a flexible health and dental plan. SWAC provides students with one-on-one counselling support, confidential health services and accessible learning services, contributing to a healthy, positive and inclusive learning experience.
Recently, Humber and IGNITE have worked together on two large projects aimed at improving the lives of students within the Humber and Guelph-Humber community.
The Soupbar is a pay-what-you-can service that addresses student hunger on campus and strives to eliminate food waste within the broader community. It provides students in financial need with an open and inclusive way to obtain a meal. Whether a student has $2 or less, they are able to enjoy a hot bowl of soup made from donated organic vegetables and produce from Humber Arboretum’s Food Learning Garden.
We also helped lead the Dispute Resolution Clinic (DRC). The Clinic helps students manage their conflicts on and off campus. In partnership with the Faculty of Business and the Office of Student Conduct, the DRC offer students advice through conflict coaching, conflict mediation, and conflict management workshops.

DEGREE SCHOLARSHIPS
To recognize academic achievement, Humber offers a number of scholarships to assist you with the costs of your postsecondary education. Scholarships primarily recognize and reward academic excellence, although extracurricular activities, community involvement, and financial need may be considered. Humber awards degree scholarships automatically to graduating high school students based on academic achievement.

DIPLOMA TO DEGREE TRANSFER STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS
Humber awards degree scholarships to students entering any Humber honours bachelor’s degree program who have completed a two- or three-year diploma from a publicly funded college. Students who have achieved a program GPA of 80 per cent or higher will be awarded a one-time scholarship of $2,500. Diplomas do not have to be related to the degree program of choice and are not tied to the eligibility for advanced standing or transfer credit.

OSAP
The Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) is a financial aid program that can help you pay for college. OSAP offers funding through:· grants: money you don’t have to pay back· student loans: money you need to repay once
you’re done school
When you apply for OSAP, you are automatically considered for both grants and loans. If you don’t want to take a loan, you can decline it after your application is approved.
There are also programs to help you repay your student loan once you’re done school.

WORK STUDY PROGRAM
Working on campus while you are a Humber or University of Guelph-Humber student is a great way to gain some valuable work experience, learn about resources and services at Humber, and earn some extra cash. The rate of pay for student positions is from $14 and up per hour. You must be in satisfactory academic standing to work on campus. To work on campus you also need to be considered a full-time student (for most students this means a minimum 60% course load; some students with disabilities are considered full-time at a 40% course load), and you will need a Social Insurance Number.
You must be a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or Protected Person.
