We are a registered charity (1157163) bringing people together in Cringleford to explore "living well and loving our community”. We begun with group of people who want to inspire each other to 'live well' in Cringleford - building a sense of community and growing as individuals, families and citizens by connecting with others.

To date we have run or facilitated well over 300 events and groups since May 2012, and we continually try to have a varied programme of activities to appeal to as many people as possible. We run a website (cringlefordhub.co.uk) and Facebook page to enable people to connect online. We also want to reflect the needs and interests of everyone in the community, so we regularly find ways to ask people what they think, what their lives are like and what they would like to see happening in this community, as well as facilitating other groups and individuals to hold events and gatherings.

We opened Hub Cafe in November 2014 as a relaxed, informal space at the heart of the community, run as a social enterprise with volunteering at the heart of who we are. It is a place where all ages and all walks of life are welcomed and included; a place where everyone can know that they belong.

Hosting welcoming, vibrant, creative community spaces - online, in our cafe, in people’s homes and other community facilities. Creating spaces where people can drop in and connect with others and meet for a diverse range of activities and groups that promote social, spiritual, physical and emotional ‘living well’.

Summary March 2015

WHAT IS CRINGLEFORD HUB?

Page 3: Hub cafe supervisor application pack

 Registered Charity no: 11571633

Our vision is a community

where.... • people have pride in living here

• people are included and welcomed

• people rediscover and re-prioritise how

important it is to engage with others

• there is cohesion as people encounter one

another

• people have a sense of true belonging

• individuals, families and societies are

enriched by intentionally engaging with

others

• people live well, in a holistic sense -

physically, socially, spiritually, emotionally,

relationally

• people have the opportunity for new

experiences

• people can experience Christian spiritual

practices and explore their spirituality in a

supportive community.

Because this is our vision,

we will…

• Set up and run a welcoming, vibrant,

creative community space: a “hub”; where

people can both drop in and connect with

others as well as meet for a diverse range

of activities that promote social, spiritual,

physical and emotional ‘thriving’; a place

for informal connections to develop into

deeper, more intentional relationships.

• encourage encounters by running, and

facilitating others to run, a varied program

of activities, offering opportunities for

new experiences and exploring “living

well”; by listening to community need and

responding inclusively.

Our Values

• Inclusivity - we recognise that diversity and

difference can be a strength in community,

and we will respect and commit to working

alongside people, regardless of race,

ethnicity, religion, orientation, gender etc.

• Fairness - we will seek to source products

and services in a way that recognises the

true cost and supports workers (e.g. fair

trade) and supports the local community

(e.g. local businesses etc.)

• Quality - we will hold ourselves to high

standards and commit to offering the best

we can.

• Collaboration and Partnership - we are

stronger together so will look to not do on

our own what we might do together.

HUB VISION AND MISSION STATEMENT

FOUNDATION STATEMENT

A place for ‘living well’

Cringleford Hub is founded by and has grown out of the vision and commitment of the Diocese of Norwich and the local church of St Peter’s, Cringleford.

The conviction of this church community is that they can have a real and beneficial impact in the communities where they live and work and beyond, with practical and committed loving service.

Those founding this charity believe that the values of Christianity are timeless, relevant and highly motivating. This conviction and these values are at the foundation of Cringleford Hub, and are to be lived and worked out in all dimensions of the charity and its work.

These values include love, care, relationship, generosity, integrity, service, excellence and commitment, and can be summed up in the biblical exhortation to “love your neighbour as yourself”.

The actions and service that flow out of this foundation are for all people regardless of their faith conviction or position. Cringleford Hub will always serve and help according to need and irrespective of beliefs.

We have created an informal, vibrant and

welcoming space for the community as a

whole, opening regularly and as frequently as is

feasible, including evenings and weekends.

Volunteering is at the heart of who we are, and

we are committed to being a supportive and

environment for our team, encouraging

creativity in exploring different ways to meet

the needs of our increasingly diverse

community.

As a social enterprise we want to be financially

self-sustaining whilst achieving our charitable

aims.

We already serve great coffee, a range of

teas, good quality handmade snacks and treats

(made by our volunteer bakers on the

premises), alongside light meals and cooked

food. We occasionally cater for other hirers of

the Willow Centre, offering buffet food, hot

drinks and snacks.

Our Vision for development

We know that we have made a strong start

and will be looking to firmly establish Hub Cafe

at the heart of the community, and to grow and

develop the business.

Led by the Cafe Management team, with the

creative input form the Cafe Supervisor, we aim

to:

• create and serve a wider range of food in

order to keep our menu fresh and inviting;

• develop the catering side of our business to

offer attractive packages for hirers and create

diverse income streams;

• explore ways to bring more people into the

Hub Cafe community and ensure we are

accessible and diverse;

• grow and develop the volunteer team;

• offer more formal work experience or

apprenticeship positions to young people.
