GlucosamineGlucosamine is a natural compound found in nearly all tissues of the body. The body manufactures

glucosamine from an amino acid – a building block of proteins – a sugar, and is highly concentrated

in all connective tissues of the body, with the highest concentration found in cartilage.

Ingredients - Serves 8

Vanilla Yoghurt Dressing: Formula 1 Nutritional Shake Mix Vanilla 2 Serves (28g), Personalised Protein Powder

1 Serve (5g), Natural (Sugar-Free) Yoghurt 200g, Vinegar 1tbsp, Pinch of Salt and Black Pepper.

Salad: Lettuce (60g), Fresh Salad Vegetables (60g), Pepper to taste.

1 Place Formula 1 Nutritional Shake Mix Vanilla, Personalised Protein Powder and

Yoghurt with a pinch of Salt and Pepper into a bowl and mix well.

2 Wash lettuce and salad vegetables, drain well.

3 Cut salad vegetables and tear lettuce into bite-sized pieces and place in a mixing bowl.

4 Add a desired amount of dressing to salad and toss through. Season with Black

Pepper to serve.

What does it do? Glucosamine supports healthy cartilage, a connective tissue found on certain bone

surfaces, in structures of the ear and nose, and the discs between the vertebrae.

Cartilage covering the ends of bones provides a smooth surface - allowing bones to

easily move against one another where they meet at a joint.

Why is it important? Glucosamine provides support to joint structures, and is often used as a supplement

for joint health. Individuals with mild-to-moderate osteoarthritis – the most common

form of arthritis in which there is thinning of the connective tissue on the surface of

the bones – may use glucosamine supplements to support the joints and protect

cartilage, particularly in the knees.

Where is it found? Glucosamine is produced naturally in the body, but is also found as an ingredient in

many supplements designed to support joint health.

Most of us know that exercise is a great way to jump-

start a weight loss programme and manage weight, but

engaging in a moderate level of daily physical activity can

help keep bones and muscles strong, reduce stress and

beneficial in building muscle mass, further supporting

bone health. In addition, muscle tissue burns more

calories than other body tissues, and this increased

calorie burn can help you maintain a healthy weight.

Preliminary research studies have shown that regular

physical activity can help the body cope with stress.

Exercise releases endorphins into the system; during

exercise, these natural substances are produced by

the body and released into the blood stream, leading

to feelings of relaxation and well-being. A brisk walk or

quick workout could be just the thing to calm you after a

stressful day. And, since many people often turn to food

when they feel stressed - which could lead to weight gain

– substituting healthy exercise for mindless snacking will

not only reduce stress, but help avoid weight gain.

Reducing sedentary activities, engaging in more physical

activity, and burning more calories than you consume are

key in weight management. A regular exercise routine not

only helps with weight loss, but it has also been shown

to be one of the primary factors in helping individuals

maintain their goal weight. Successful ‘maintainers’

average about 30 minutes a day of exercise, and report

that this habit – along with a healthy low-fat diet – is one of

the most important factors in keeping weight down.

Fueling an active lifestyle is important, too. Your body

requires healthy lean proteins to help to maintain and

build muscle tissue. Low-fat dairy products provide

not only protein, but plenty of calcium to support bone

health. Fruits, vegetables and whole grains are healthy

carbohydrates that provide energy for daily activity.

Eat right, and make a point to move, lift and stretch

throughout your day. You can stay active for a lifetime –

and it’s never too late to start.

Taeho Kim and Hyunmo Koo, Founder’s Circle members

who have been with Herbalife for 19 years, are making

history with Herbalife Korea. The couple became the

Number One Distributors, with the highest worldwide

sales in 2001, and became Herbalife Korea’s first Founder’s

Circle members in 2010. But for them, these achievements

are already yesterday’s news.

Moving on from these unprecedented achievements, the

couple is striving to set an example as a complete family

business. This is the story of a family business which has

been credited with substantially increasing the qualita-

tive growth of network marketing. Achieving Chairman’s

Club status in 1999, Taeho Kim and Hyunmo Koo felt

that this was enough to cement their commitment to

Herbalife, for life. However, it was not long after that they

found the motivation to strive for the goal of Founder’s

Circle.

Taeho Kim and Hyunmo Koo have two daughters,

and they were keen to introduce their girls to the life

and bright future offered by Herbalife. When their first

daughter Grace, was in the midst of wedding prepa-

rations with her fiance Alex, the soon-to-wed couple

promised Grace’s parents that after the wedding they

would attend the Herbalife Extravaganza to be held in

the USA. The newlyweds kept their promise and, at the

Extravaganza, found a great vision for the future.

Inspired, Grace and Alex started their Herbalife busi-

ness, which quickly expanded taking them to President’s

Team level. Being Taeho Kim and Hyunmo Koo’s 10th

downline President’s Team members, Grace and Alex’s

rise to President’s Team, gifted the couple access to the

Founder’s Circle.

involve younger generations in your business.”

Influenced by their successful business story in Korea,

the family business has spread far and wide. Public

confidence in the Herbalife business has grown as peo-

ple see that Herbalife Distributors actually recommend

the business to their own children. The concept of

network marketing as a business is slowly changing to

include the whole family. It is time for Herbalife, with 31

years of history, to look for a change in generations and

to set a good example for other Distributors.
