Here are a few of the WHS successes: Texan Cross Country Teams have qualified for regionals and we wish them luck as they run in Corpus tomorrow morning. e Varsity Teams came in second and our JV Teams were District Champs, congrats! e Spirit of Texas Marching Band has advanced out of District to the Area Round in Belton tomorrow as well. Congrats and best of luck marching into Area Competition! Lady Texan Volleyball has qualified for the playoffs finishing 3rd in district. Playoff details TBA...best of Luck! Texan Team Tennis WON district and competed very well at the Area Round losing to Fredericksburg in the semi-finals. Great Season! WHS Speech and Debate have been attending and performing very well in early competition. Looks like it will be a GREAT year for those students! Wimberley Model United Nations has started competing and already bring home awards. Great job MUN students in your first year of competition! Texan Football will advance to the playoffs likely finishing in 2nd place. Best of luck in their last district game on November 4th versus Hondo. WHS is PROUD of our students and all their hard work! Message from Principal Valentine

WWimberley HS students are off to a great start in their academics as well as extra-curricular

activities! Here are a few of the WHS successes:

Last Varsity Football Game Nov. 4Our last Varsity Football Game of the season will be

played at home on Friday, Nov. 4 at 7:30 p.m. versus Hondo. If you wish to purchase tickets in advance, you can do so at the Field House Tuesday, Nov. 1 through Friday, Nov. 4 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and noon. Advance tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for students. All tickets are $6 at the gate which opens at 6:00 p.m.

It will also be Senior Night, so please come out and show your thanks to all our senior players as well as the rest of the team for another fabulous year of Texan Football. Go Texans!!!

Mandatory FFA Meeting Nov. 2Just a reminder that FFA has its BIG stockshow

meeting next Wednesday, Nov. 2. It is mandatory if you plan on attending any livestock show this show season. This includes the following shows: Hays, San Antonio, Houston, Austin, or San Angelo. Also this includes the following projects: Livestock, Ag Mechanics, Homeskills, Art, Photography, Crafts, or Clothing.

Also we are beginning our Fruit orders this week. They will be due on Tuesday, Nov. 15.

As a reminder Swine Validation will be on Saturday, Nov. 19 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Dripping Springs Ranch Park. This is the same Saturday as the Dripping Springs Fall Classic. You are more than welcome to attend the show and then go to validation!

ABC Holiday Bake SaleIt’s Time for ABC’s Thanksgiving Holiday Bake Sale!

Make your Thanksgiving holiday baking a little bit easier while helping with ABC’s student scholarship fund! Please spread the word to family and friends and place your own order for delicious sweet breads and pies for pick-up at WHS on Nov. 18, just in time for the holidays!

We’re baking banana bread and pumpkin bread ($10 for two regular-size loaves) and pumpkin and chocolate brownie pies ($10 each)! Ordering is simple:

Cross Country Competes in CorpusThe Texan Cross Country team competed in the UIL

District 27-4A Championship Meet on Monday, Oct. 17 and qualified for the UIL Region IV Meet in Corpus Christi to be held on Saturday, Oct. 29. Freshman Ashlyn Royal won first place in the Girls 3200 meter race with a time of 12:01, making her one of the top runners in all of Region IV. Avery Biggers also finished in the top ten and received a medal with her 9th place finish and a time of 13:15.

Craig Huey finished in 3rd place (17:40) and Joaquin Olmedo (17:56) finished in 6th place to medal for the boys in the 5000 meter race. Both boys and girls teams finished in second place and advanced to regionals.

GIRLS TEAM MEMBERS ADVANCING TO REGIONALS: Ashlyn Royal, Avery Biggers, Lilly Hovre, Ellie Hovre, Katy Heldstab, Caroline Biggers, Ashlynn Zachgo-Peterson.
