The previous International Conference was held on 14 and 15 December 2012 at SDMIMD, Mysore campus. More than 250 paper presenters from academic and corporate world from India and coun-ties, such as, US, Malayasia, and China, have attended the conference. The conference was inaugu-rated by Mr. Madan Padaki, Co-founder & CEO, MeritTrac Services, Bangalore. Eminent cor-porate personalities, such as, Mr. E. S. Chakravarthy, Centre Head, TCS Bangalore; Mr. Niranjan Ni-kam, Chief of Bureau, Deccan Herald, Mysore; Mr. C. S Anil Kumar, V P – HR, Reliance Retail; Mr. Ajish M J, Manager HR, Tata Elxsi, Trivandrum; Mr. P. Sudeep, Registrar, Center for Earth Science Studies, Trivandrum, addressed various HR issues in the technical sessions in the conference. The vale-dictory address was delivered by Mr. C. Mahalingam, Executive VP & CPO, Symphony Services, Ban-galore.

Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Institute for Management Development (SDMIMD), ranked among the top Business Schools in India, is located at the foot of Chamundi Hills in the heritage city of Mysore in Karnataka, 140 kilometers from Bangalore. SDM Research Centre for Management Studies (SDM RCMS) has been recently recognized for con-ducting Ph.D. program. Further, a recognized two year part-time PGDM program is being launched this year.

The business world currently is characterized by many challenges due to a variety of changes driven by factors, such as, technological, economic, socio-political, and so on. The impact of the changes is felt simultaneously in many parts of the interconnected globalized environment. At the heart of this change process, lies the challenge of understanding, and managing the parameters of change management. The levers for managing the change process are driven by the key functionaries and employees of any organization. Human resource management, thus today, is confronted with core issues of managing the change in the business processes and aligning the organizations’ systems, structures, and policies to leverage competitiveness with regard to the operating business environment. This strategic aspect of human resource management brings to the foreground many issues and prospects, which need to be understood, debated, and deliberated upon, in order to find new solutions to unique problems, currently challenging the corporate world.

Keeping the above in mind, SDMIMD is organizing its 2nd International Conference on Managing Managing Managing Managing Human Resources at the WorkplaceHuman Resources at the WorkplaceHuman Resources at the WorkplaceHuman Resources at the Workplace, on 13 and 14 December 2013, at SDMIMD campus, Mysore. This conference seeks to provide a platform to address and deliberate on the various issues and concerns in field of human resource management.
