DHCP server is configured with a range, or pool, of IP addresses
that can be
assigned to DHCP clients.
A client that needs an IP address will send a DHCP Discover
message which is a
broadcast with a destination IP address of 255.255.255.255 and a
destination AC
address of !!"!!"!!"!!"!!"!!.
All hosts on the networ# will receive this broadcast DHCP frame,
but onl$ a DHCP
server will repl$.
%he server will respond with a DHCP Offer, suggesting an IP
address for the client.
%he host then sends a DHCP Request to that server as#ing to use
the suggested
IP address.
%he server responds with a DHCP Acknowledgment.
