Parliamentary Placement Scheme
• What is it?– Summer placement in Welsh Assembly or
House of Commons– Placement with an AM/MP or Political Party – Varied work– Usually last 4 - 6 weeks

• What are we looking for?– Second year students – single honours, joint
or major/minor – Competitive application process – Not necessarily just academic high flyers– Good ambassadors

• Funding– Awards of £250 will be given to successful
candidates

• How do I apply?– Complete application form– Curriculum Vitae– Covering letter– Passport sized photograph– Deadline: Monday 11 November 2013

• What happens next?– Submit application by deadline - Monday 11 November– Department to draw up shortlist and inform applicants– Interviews conducted – Provisional date 3/4 December– Shortlisted candidates informed of outcome– Start matching students with MPs and AMs– Once placement confirmed, MP or AM to contact
student to finalise arrangements, accommodation and security pass
