…not every thing imaginable is feasible, not even the software as it may appear basically a software is acceptable if it is technically (whether suggested technology exist or can be acquired from the market.), financially (feasible. It is financially feasible if it is build at cost which is affordable by its client), operationally, (should be used to reduce the defects or fulfill the requirements matching the users needs. & should not affect the existing operations of the organization and can be put into use by easy without resistance (to acquire the new skills required)

Technical Feasibility:Technical Feasibility:

The minimum requirement to implement the system is Pentium-IV processor with 512 MB RAM, windows 2000 operating system (and onwards), Common language Runtime (runtime environment for .NET 3.5 with C#, SQL server 2005. These are the soft wares which are most popular and easily available in the market. 5.5. Project Planning &Project Planning & Scheduling :Scheduling :

PROJECT PLANNINGPROJECT PLANNING ::

Project ManagementProject Management is the discipline of planning, organizing, and managing resources to ring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives. The primary challenge of project management is to achieve all of the project goals and objectives while adhering to classic project constraints—usually scope, quality, time and budget. The secondary—and more ambitious—challenge is to optimize the allocation and integration of inputs necessary to meet pre-defined objectives.

A project is a carefully defined set of activities that use resources (money, people, materials, energy, space, provisions, communication, motivation, etc.) to achieve the project goals and objectives.

Some of Project Management activities that I have carried out are as follow:

1. Analysis and design of objectives and events.2. Planning the work according to the objectives.

DEVELOPMENT TOOLS ANDDEVELOPMENT TOOLS AND TECHNOLOGY USED:TECHNOLOGY USED:

Front-End: C#.NET 3.5 (C#)Front-End: C#.NET 3.5 (C#)

C#.NET is an object-oriented, event-driven development platform for writing Web-based applications. Before .NET, Active Server Pages was the core Microsoft technology for developing applications that ran through the browser. C# was a great platform, and it truly revolutionized the way Web applications were written, but it had lots of room for improvement. With C#.NET, the gap between writing Windows-based applications and Web-based applications has been closed.

Because C#.NET is based on the .NET Framework, the same classes in the Framework class library (FCL) are available to all .NET-based applications. That means the same coding model that you use to write Windows Forms applications is used to write C#.NET applications. It also means you can write C#.NET applications in any .NET language.

One of the drawbacks to writing C# applications is the scalability issue.

Year : 2010 Page 20

Sr. No. 7 Proposed System

Page 21: Hospital Management System Report

Hospital Management System

Because C# pages are written in script, the code must be interpreted each time a page is accessed. To improve performance, developers write complex caching schemes, use different session state handling optimizations to improve page throughput, and move code into compiled COM components to increase performance—that all changes with .NET. All C#.NET applications are compiled. There's no interpreted script of server-side code, and the C#.NET runtime is a multithreaded asynchronous application, so the core infrastructure is more scalable than C#. The following bullets highlight some of the major improvements and benefits that C#.NET gives you, and should also serve as a list of why C#.NET is so much better than C#:

Using the various caching methods in C#.NET, you can drastically improve application performance with a simple page directive—not any complex code.

Using the Web.Config configuration file, you can implement robust page- and directory-level security without writing code for each page.

Using Visual Studio .NET, you have the same Code Editor features that Windows Forms applications have, including auto-complete and auto-list members.

Year : 2010 Page 21

Page 22: Hospital Management System Report

Hospital Management System

Debugging C#.NET applications is just like debugging Windows applications. All the great debugging features come from Visual Studio .NET, not the language or type of application you're writing.

The event-driven model familiar to C# developers and Windows Forms development is the same in C#.NET, which makes application development more logical and very rapid.

Visual Studio .NET provides a vast array of controls, including validation controls, grid controls, and list controls—all of which support data binding.

C#.NET provides several ways to implement session state, including page level, session level, and application level. The state data can be stored in memory, in cookies, in a Windows Service process, or in a SQL Server database, giving you great options for designing scalable applications.

C#.NET separates the visual pages from the page logic, giving you increased flexibility in how you design and develop applications.

C#.NET applications are 100% compiled.

Microsoft SQL is the most widely used databases in the world. Microsoft SQL is a relational database. This concept is an extremely simple way of thinking about and managing data used in a business. Microsoft SQL 2005 was developed and defined by Microsoft Corporation.

Rather than manipulating single records, you can mange sets of records. The most common form of a set of record is a table. All SQL statements accept sets as input and all SQL statements to be used as input to other SQL statements. SQL provides statements for a variety of tasks including

Querying data

Inserting, updating, deleting database objects

8.48.4 System Design :System Design :

This phase is a move from user requirement to defining how system will work thus it is quite technical it specifies

1. Exactly each input , output, data audit and control requirement will be handled

2. Acceptance test plan/ scheduled

3. Facilities, equipments and personal required

4. Manual procedures required to operate system.

Design of Input Screen:Design of Input Screen:

Input screen are user friendly and care is taken that minimum amount of data entry is done. The master information once entered and stored is displayed in a combo box or as a list for further input thus there are no chances of error in data entry as the use only has to select the information from the provided list. It confirms the our doctor as soon as the any one clicks the Button and then only any further processing is only done for the show name and qualification of

Year : 2010 Page 33

Page 34: Hospital Management System Report

doctor. And basic information is first validated and then further data entry is allowed thus it saves unnecessary data typing. Proper messages are provided where ever needed. Thus care is taken for control of data and correctness of data with minimum typing efforts. Main Screen is Home Page which is displayed when the user logs into the site.

Input Verification and ControlInput Verification and Control

The data input is verified properly before any data is stored in the tables, proper conversions of data type and formats are done. First of all it is verified that the correct data with proper formats is entered and information is provided where required. Key data is displayed from the master tables where ever needed if any redundancy exists then the data is not reentered it is fetch form appropriate tables. e.g. while entering master information it is verified that data already exist for that entity only then further data is accepted. Thus duplication and redundancy is properly handled. Link for saving is enabled only after proper verification and validation of data is done.

Design of Output Screen & reportsDesign of Output Screen & reports

Year : 2010 Page 34

Page 35: Hospital Management System Report

Hospital Management System

The purpose sequence and volume of data displayed is taken care of. Reports are generated with proper headings, highlighting, total, and subtotals and proper formats.

Database Design: Database Design:

The most popular relational database model is used for permanent storage of data. It is two dimensional and easy to handle. Thus logical and physical changes are easy to handle.

System Acceptance Criteria:System Acceptance Criteria:

Quality Quality

1. Duplication of Student ID, Marks Sheet is handled properly.

2. At a time one faculty is not allocated to more than one course.
