Dear Life-Changer,

Summer is drawing to a close and we’re now preparing for the Fall. Over 250,000 meals will be served to people in need by the end of the year. Hope often begins with a meal and often one meal will lead to a transformed life. Help us with our annual “Pack the Pantry” food drive campaign. This is a great project for your place of worship, business, school, club or organization. It’s so rewarding to see what young people are doing; school kids, college students, and young adults are becoming more involved in helping the homeless at our Centers in Miami, Hollywood, and Pompano Beach.

I want to thank everyone who helped make our summer programs so successful. We had over 130 kids in our summer camp program, celebrated birthdays with our “Bombastic Birthday Party” for the homeless and needy, held our annual “Christmas-in-July” celebration that served thousands and provided over 600 pairs of new sneakers to boys and girls. We were also able to distribute school supplies to hundreds of needy children.

We simply could not do what we do without YOU! Together, we are serving more than 1,300 men, women, and children each day. Hundreds are enrolled in our residential programs. In fact, last year 720 men and women graduated our programs, found employment, and housing. YOU make this all possible!

Special Blessings to you and your loved ones,

Rev. Ronald Brummitt, PresidentMiami Rescue Mission | Broward Outreach Centers

Yanique’s Life is Forever Changed

I was a very disobedient child growing up. I didn’t like being told what to do in my home and so I would run away and stay with friends. I got involved with a man and had children with him.

At first, I enjoyed being a wife and mother, but my husband wanted to party with other people. I felt he wasn’t being supportive and we eventually had to move into his mother’s house. We began to have bad fights and she asked us to leave. I wasn’t happy and looked everywhere for a place to stay. Even my mom said no. I was separated from my husband and had no money. Thank the Lord I found the Center and was able to enroll in the program. When I arrived, I was mad with everyone but felt loved and accepted by the staff and other women of the Center.

What really helped me to change were the classes and counseling I received. I also have developed a relatiohship with God. Now, I’m a better women, wife, mother and person. I’m thankful for the Center because it truly changed me. Before, I was very angry and just fed up with life. Now, my whole life and mind-set is positively changed. I truly appreciate this place every day. I’m ready for a bright, new future!
