2019 PRAYERLINE Please pray for hospitalized, sick, military men & women serving our country, residents of nursing homes and homebound, including Matt Orr, Alice Blevins, Bobbi Blevins, Meredith Johnston, Mary Jane Kalvin, Denae Richardson, Sharon Castiglione, Connie Wenzel, Ed Lubrant, Vicki Selvaggio, Gerri Wright, Renee Tilley.

PASTOR’S CORNER To return is to repent. Many people begin this process by saying, "I'm sorry." Often, however, it's an empty expres-sion. It's not much better than other such expressions, like: my bad, mistakes were made, oops, excuse me, pardon me and so on. How does one truly return or repent? It depends, of course, on to whom the offense was given, the magnitude of the offense and the damage caused by the offense. Generally, a person who is truly sorry understands just what -- exactly -- is needed to make amends. You've hurt your spouse? You know what you need to do, right? You offend God, you also know what needs to be done, including a ces-sation of the offending behavior. Whimsical responses to the unfinished statement, "Nothing says 'I'm sorry' like ..." include: chocolate, flowers, a tuna casserole, cash, cupcakes or a Home Depot gift certificate. What really says "I'm sorry," however, is to stop doing the bad stuff, and begin doing the good stuff.

Please pray for our RCIA candidate John Chowles of Carlinville and our Catechumens Gigi and Gabe Tesio of Gillespie and Eddie Ray of Carlinville.

PSRCorner: Upcoming PSR Dates: March. 3, l0, 17, 24, 31 (Sundays, 9:00 am to 10:15 am)

In order for a child to be baptized, the Church requires that the minister performing the baptism have a reasonable hope that the child will be raised in the practice of the faith. Attending Mass and being a part of a parish community would be grounds for a reasonable hope. Therefore, if you are not a registered member and have not regularly attended Mass for at least 6 months prior to baptism, (having your child registered for PSR does not count) we will not be able to baptize your child until these requirements are met.

SS Simon and Jude Altar Society will meet on Tuesday, March 5th following the 8:00 Mass. Join us to celebrate Fat Tuesday. All Ladies of the parish are invited to attend.

Ladies of the Parish are invited to attend the Deanery Meeting in Ramsey on Tues. 3/12. Registration at 9 followed by Mass.
