Welcome...I have had the pleasure of being head of Holy Family since the school was established in September 2012. This has been an amazing journey for our school community. From the outset, we wanted to establish a tight-knit community whose values and vision for the children in our care are rooted in our faith. We wanted to make sure that the children in our school developed as happy, rounded individuals with a strong sense of belonging and a love of learning. We also wanted them to have fun, experience awe and wonder and have a sense of responsibility for the world God created for us.

I believe that the first year group are well on their way to being the living embodiment of the dreams we have for the children of Holy Family. These families placed their trust in us and have worked with us to make this an amazing school with a real sense of purpose and a determination to succeed.

This is my second headship; previously I was head at a Watford Primary School. During my eight years there I lead the school through an amalgamation and took the school from an Ofsted grade of satisfactory to a grade of good and finally to a grade of outstanding. This was also a tremendous journey and one I enjoyed immensely. I look forward to working with our wonderful staff, Governors and parent body to pursue our unique journey of excellence in Holy Family.

History of our SchoolThe Diocese of Westminster worked in collaboration with the London Borough of Ealing to provide school places for Ealing children as a response to a rapid growth in birth rates and the increasing demand for school places in the borough. The Diocese provided the land and Ealing provided funding to build this beautiful new school. There was a stipulation that the school had to be open from September 2012 and so last year Holy Family opened its doors to welcome the first pupils. The school was housed in The Parish Hall in 2012-2013 while we waited for the new building to emerge from what had once been a bowling green.

Religious EducationAs a Catholic School, our faith permeates every aspect of school life; we also teach Religion discretely as a core subject and dedicate ten per cent of our curriculum time towards this. We have close links with Holy Family Parish. We celebrate liturgies in school and visit the church regularly.

Early Years Foundation StageOur Early Years Foundation Stage consists of our nursery class and two reception classes. We share an exciting outside area and have the facilities to share indoor areas also. Our EYFS is very well resourced and our curriculum is based on investigation and play. Adults in our EYFS allow children to dictate their own learning experiences by closely observing interests and engaging with learners to develop thinking.
