I come to HiMAP Academy because I want to improve math and I like getting my homework done at the sessions. HiMAP Academy sessions have helped me pay better attention to my math and to work harder at the subjects I dont like.So happy to tell you my grandson, freshman at Beyer High School, has definitely raised his math grade. He took a test and was so happy to find out he received 95% which was an A. He said, Thanks to HiMAP Academy!We hope to continue this coming semester”. I wanted to thank you all for such a wonderful, positive experience for my daughter. Thank you so much for all the help you have her in Algebra”. HiMAP Academy has given me the opportunity to practice my leadership skills and acquire better communication skills. Furthermore, Veronica is currently a student in the Doctor of Educaon in Educaonal Leadership (EdD) program at CSUS.

- - - Frequently Asked Questions - - - What is STREAM Academy? An academic program designed to enhance cognitive reasoning and critical thinking skills. Academy Activities Coaching sessions in Integrated Mathematics,

Chemistry, Biology, Physics, General Science, Writing and Graphic Arts.

Presentations on topics such as study skills, note-taking, college readiness, scholarships and finan-cial aid.

Who may attend the academy? Students in grades 4 - 12 who need assistance in STREAM discipline. What should I bring to the Academy? You must bring your list of questions, textbooks, class notes, past exams and quizzes. Who directs the Academy? Ms. Veronica Chaidez, Program Coordinator, teacher at Johanassan High School and Part Time Lecturer at CSU Stanislaus. May I leave early if I finish my homework and have no questions? No. If you finish your homework early, ask the coach for enrichment activities.

What if I cannot attend all the sessions? Attendance is optional. The more classes you attend, the more you will improve. What if I need to leave early? Participants may leave early with a written request from a parent or guardian. Is there a deadline for the registration? No. However registration is limited to 40 students. Early registration is encouraged. Is there a Dress Code for the Academy? Yes! Students are required to wear HiMAP Academy T-shirt and black, navy, khaki, while slacks/jeans, skirt or shorts (knee length). Academy uniform may not be altered. Where do I get the Academy T-shirt? HiMAP T-shirts may be picked up at the registration desk. You can also purchase one for $5.00. Where does the Academy meet? All sessions will be held at CSU Stanislaus. See schedule.
