Highly Adaptable Multi-Mission Radar (HAMMR) Mobile protection for a mobile force A mobile force needs protection that moves with it — the protection that comes from a proven multi-mission radar system with true on-the-move capabilities. That’s HAMMR. Based on proven technology that is already in production, Northrop Grumman’s HAMMR is a multi-mission radar that provides comprehensive situational awareness to protect the fighting force from current and emerging threats. HAMMR can replace multiple single-mission radar systems and provides simultaneous multi-mission performance. HAMMR is optimized to detect fixed- and rotary- wing aircraft, unmanned aerial systems, cruise missiles, and rockets and mortars, including those in the “cone of silence” of other radars. HAMMR’s flexibility and small physical and visual footprint also make it well-suited to provide real-time situational awareness at large public gatherings, political and sporting events, and peacekeeping activities. By combining powerful electronic protection features that ensure continued operation in complex jamming environments and support shoot-on-the-move capability, HAMMR provides an unprecedented level of protection. HAMMR incorporates an Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) fighter radar mounted on a ground vehicle or towable trailer to provide continuous 360-degree protection against multiple ground and airborne targets — all while operating on-the-move. This unique AESA technology provides high target sensitivity, large elevation angle coverage, multiple beam/multiple waveform flexibility and high target update rate, making it particularly well-suited to provide engagement quality target detection, tracking and platform identification against a broad range of threats. The modular self-contained system includes on- board prime power, AESA and electronics cooling, and operator/maintainer displays, making HAMMR easily adaptable to multiple vehicle types. This allows HAMMR to operate at full capacity while on the move, meaning soldiers on the ground can maintain their operational pace without sacrificing protection. Additionally, hardware commonality with Northrop Grumman’s fighter aircraft radars provides the cost benefits of high-volume AESA production, while the inherent reliability of this proven technology means repair or replacement will be rare events.

Highly Adaptable Multi-Mission Radar

(HAMMR)

Mobile protection for a mobile force

A mobile force needs protection that moves with it — the protection that comes from a proven multi-mission radar system with

true on-the-move capabilities.

HAMMR is optimized to detect fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft, unmanned aerial systems, cruise missiles, and rockets and mortars, including those in the “cone of silence” of other radars.

The modular self-contained system includes on-board prime power, AESA and electronics cooling, and operator/maintainer displays, making HAMMR easily adaptable to multiple vehicle types.

Supporting multiple missions in multiple environmentsHAMMR is a multi-mission radar that provides comprehensive situational awareness to protect the fighting force from current and emerging threats.

Missions • Air surveillance• Counter mortar,

rocket and artillery• Short-range air

defense

Environments• Desert• Mountain• Littoral• Temperate

HAMMR has proven its on-the-move operational capabilities, including plug-and-fight integration with multiple Command and Control systems, at a variety of U.S. Government-sponsored tests and demonstrations, including Black Dart and other joint military exercises.

HAMMR goes where the warfighter goes and provides on-the-move, all-weather capabilities to ensure their safety.
