In view of this Inter House Rakhi Making Competition was
taken up by class III to inculcate the bond of love between
brother and sister .The whole atmosphere was full of love and happiness. All the children
participated with lots of enthusiasm.

The Delhi Public School Kolar Road not only
aspires to great heights but also looks to win
accolades in sports, music and other co-curricular activities. Keeping this in mind an Inter
House Instrumental Music Competition held at Dps Kolar , in which all the four houses
displayed their skills on varied musical instruments .
Students of classes IV and V mesmerized the audience with their skillful play of various
instruments like Congo, Keyboards, guitar and tabla. They garnered thunderous applause
from the gathering as well as from the judges. Participants of
Amaltas House bagged First position and Palash House stood second.

The students of DPS Kolar achieved notable success at the
recent SGFI Division Level Kudo Martial Art
Championship held at Shree Aurobindo School Bhopal.
They clinched 3 gold medals and all three participants
have been selected for the State Level Competition.

treats the patient who has the disease.‖
DPS Kolar Road, Bhopal provides opportunity to
students to explore their knowledge beyond the
classroom through different activities. Keeping this in
mind -The Department of Science had organized ―THE
DOCTORS‟ HUB”- Role play activity on doctors for
the students of CLASS III on 2nd
August 2018 .This
activity made students aware about the various streams
of Medical Science .

Dps kolar Road organised excursion to General Post Office
on 3 rd August 2018 for all the students of class V . The
objective of the visit was to make students aware of the post
office faclities and how to post letters to our relatives .
Students enjoyed a lot and therefore the excursion was very
beneficial .

the academic session 2018-19 on 4th
Aug 18 in its Junior College courtyard.
The event was graced by the Naval
Commanding Officer Bhakti Gokhale as
the Chief Guest. The oath was
administered in presence of Pro Vice
Chairman Shri Hari Mohan Gupta Founder & Chairman, Jagran Social Welfare Society,
Bhopal, Chancellor, Jagran Lakecity University, Bhopal, Pro-Vice Chairman, DPS
Bhopal-Indore & Kolar Road, Founder, Gurudev Gupta Shiksha Kendra & Somvati Devi
Shiksha Kendra, Shri Abhishek Mohan Gupta, Pro-Chancellor, JLU, CEO, Jagran
Lakecity University, Bhopal, Joint Secretary, Jagran Social Welfare Society Member-
Board of Management-DPS-Bhopal-Indore & Kolar Road, and other dignitaries.
The School Principal Ms. Vandna Dhupar welcomed the gathering, and offered her
gratitude to all the dignitaries and the parents for their dignified presence. A total of 72
new council members were given their respective certificates, sashes and badges
.Transcendental kathak dance performance in form of Ganesh Vandana , melodious
motivational songs were part of the cultural programme. The programme was brought to a
close with the vote of thanks and school anthem.

4.08.2018 The Power of real debate is in the language and intellectual honesty of the debate
alongside the engagement of spectators . St Montfort Senior Secondary School organised
Monfort cup Inter School Debate Competition on 4 th August 2018.The Topic for the
same was ‗Gadgets are Hijacking our common sense‘. The speakers for the day were
Anaya Pariyani IX –D (against the motion) and Sanchita Thakur IX –D (for the motion).
There were seventeen schools who participated for the debate and peformed in
stupendous way .
6.08.2018 Sport has the power to change the world. It inspires
and unites people.
Three students from DPS Kolar Road, Smruti
Parihar (VIII), Siya Mehta (VI) and Ayushi Katulkar
(VIII) of class VII were part of the SGFI Bhopal
Division Girls Football team. During a match
organized by
State School Game Federation of India the team won
the bronze medal and stood third.

Delhi public school Kolar organized a beautiful French assembly on7th
August 2018 at
Magnum Opus Where in students of class IV and V presented French Assembly. Class
IV students performed Numbers and Alphabets songs .they performed very well. Class V
students sang one French song > that was splendid.
At last they presented famous things of France .they enacted beautifully. Overall
performance was conducted in French and English and was well appreciated.

Participants – Classes VI to VIII DPS Kolar celebrated
Sanskrit Diwas on 7th
August 2018. The importance of
Sanskrit language by the students of classes IV to VIII.
Sanskrit skit, Veda mantra and Geet Gayan were
appreciated by Madam Principal.‘ Griham Griham Prati
Sanskritam‘ handy book was distributed to the students for
the betterment and up gradation of Sanskrit language. Overall fabulous performances
were showcased on this occasion.

Delhi Public School Kolar Road, Bhopal organized an Inter House Cricket Match for
the students of classes VI-VIII in the
school field. The match was held in order
to encourage sportsmanship spirit and
groom the students in the sports domain.
The matches were played between the
four Houses-Amaltas, Palash, Gulmohar
and Kachnar . The final match was played
between the students of Palash House and
Amaltas House.
The final match exhibited sportsmanship
from both the team with victory falling
into the lap of Amaltas house. Ansh Dubey of Amaltas house was declared as Man of the
match While the winners were cheered, the effort of the runners up Palash house was
equally appreciated. Both the teams presented an impressive show.

Radio drama is a dramatized, purely acoustic performance. With no visual component,
radio drama depends on dialogue, music and sound effects to help the listener imagine the
characters and story.
With the aim of honing the communication skills of the students, an Inter House English
Radio Play Competition was organized by the English Department DPS Kolar on August
10, 2018, for students of classes IX to XI. The spectators witnessed the zeal and
enthusiasm of the students as they enthralled everyone with their performances. Ms.
Rashmi Bawa and Ms. Rita Chacko were the judges for the event. The judges highly
complimented the efforts put in by the participants all the four houses.

In Persona classes, the topic for the month was Table
Manners. Table manners have evolved over the centuries to
make the practice of eating with others pleasant and sociable.
Good manners reflect something from inside-an innate sense
of consideration for others and respect for self.

Students of class II A and B presented a lovely
assembly on opposites. Students enacted a skit in
which Alice meets different animals in wonderland.
Alice saw that the rabbit runs very fast and tortoise
walk slowly, Elephant is big and the ant is small, some
flowers are happy
and some are sad. She also meets the king and the queen. Students impressed everyone
with their confidence and costume. Assembly concluded with a melodious poem on
opposite.

―Talent is to explore talent‖ is the most accurate expression for
DPS, Kolar Road Bhopal. With the same notion, DPS Kolar
Road organized preliminary round of National Level Painting
Competition on topic 'Save Fuel For Better Environment'. It
was initiated by ‗PCRA‘ (Ministry of Petroleum & Natural
Gas, Govt, of India) . The motive behind this topic was to
increase awareness in young minds for the National cause of
Conservation of Fuel and Environment protection. The
competition will definitely prove to be a milestone in students‘
talent galore.

‗Cleanliness is Next to Godliness ‗is a famous proverb
which means maintenance of cleanliness leads a person
towards goodness.
As the entire class I E joyously presented the morning
assembly on this topic, they reiterated the fact that
cleanliness is a habit that leads us towards goodness in
every walk of life by keeping our body, mind and soul clean
and peaceful.
The main objective in conducting such an assembly was to instill the importance of
cleanliness in our daily lives and how children can integrate the same in their everyday
life.

DPS dance competition, held at DPS Jaipur on 11th
August 2018. Wherein around seventeen schools
participated from zone l 5 the theme for the same
was ‗Barah Masah ‗Students participated enthusiastically. Further it was a great
experience .

DPS Kolar organised an enriching a Workshop on Health Hygiene Awareness
organised on 11 th
August 2018 for the parents of Somvati Shiksha Kendra , wherein
Dr.Preeti explained the measure to keep away diseases by maintaning clean surroudings
.she also explained the importance of taking bath , cutting nails , eating healthy food
,brushing teeth etc.
Various videos regarding the methods of brushing , handwashing and waste disposal were
also shown . Overall it was a fruitful workshop.

Inter House Desh Bhakti Kavita Gayan Competition for the students of class -3 was
organised at DPS Kolar on 10/8/18.
Where in the Students recited poems with full zeal
and action
and the position holders were Amaltas, Palash and
Kachnar House which secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd
positions respectively.

IES school organized an Inter School Basketball Tournament from 9th
August to 11th
August 2018, wherein six schools participated in it.
(Girls Category ) -In first round, DPS Kolar played against St. Mary School and won the
match with 24.7 points .In semi Finals DPS Kolar played against Sanskar Valley School
and our team lost the match with 12-18 points.
(Boys Category)- In first round , DPS Kolar played with IES School ( host School and
won the match with 28-0 points . In semi finals, DPS Kolar played against Sanskar valley
School and lost the match with 26-32 Points.
DPS Kolar Team got the ‗BEST DISCIPLINED TEAM‘ trophy of the tournament.

Students of class – I made creative folders in the activity
‗Tri Colour Folder Making‟ to remember the great
personalities and freedom fighters who sacrificed their
lives for the freedom that we are enjoying today.
Kids were excited and took part with full zeal and
patriotism.

Patriotism is the essence. We are proud to be
Indians.‖ with this spirit, Castle of Dreams, Kolar
Road celebrated Independence Day.
An Intersection Patriotic Hindi Group Song
Competition was conducted for the students of class
II which also reflected their vision of Future India.
The young Dipsites mesmerized the audiences as
well as the judges Ms. Simran Khurana and Ms.
Sulakshana Choudhary with their melodious singing. A beautiful performance ―Mile Sur
Mera Tumhara‖ was presented by the students of classes Pre-Nursery to I that depicted
the true essence , ―Unity in Diversity‖.
Principal, Ms. Vandana Dhupar and Academic Co-ordinator Ms. Remy Behl awarded the
students with full attendance in the session 2017-18. In Intersection Patriotic Group Song
Competition, First position was bagged by Class – II (D), Classes - II (E) and II (F) were
declared as first and second runners up respectively. The programme concluded with the
vote of thanks by the head girl Ms. Aisha Sagar.
15.08.2018 The Celebrations To Mark The 72nd
Independence Day was held at the
premises of DPS Kolar Road. The
programme commenced with the
unfurling of the national flag by the
Chief Guest of the programme Shri
Abhishek Mohan Gupta Sir, CEO,
Jagran Lakecity University, Joint
Secretary, Jagran Social Welfare Society
and member of Board of Management
DPS Bhopal, Indore and Kolar Road.
The other eminent guest present was Shri Nitin Ambaselkar, Treasurer, Jagran Social
Welfare Society, Chief Accounts Officer, DPS Bhopal-Indore-Kolar Road.
An Inter house Solo Song and Group Song
Competition also took place where all the
participants sang to the tunes of inspiring
and patriotic melodies. A resplendent
display in the form of 'Pride March' was
staged by the students of Somvati Devi
Shiksha Kendra reflecting the glorious and
the decent history of the Martyrs of the
Indian Army.
Shri Abhishek Mohan Gupta, in his address
gave an account of the sacrifices made by
people of India to achieve independence. The Principal, Mrs. Vandana Dhupar welcomed
the guests and extended her greetings to the gathering and enlightened each and everyone
with her inspirational words. A host of events instilled the true colour of patriotism in all
present there. The students were lauded for their efforts in the Prize Distribution
Ceremony.
The programme included a sense of pride, love and devotion for the country and the
students brimmed with the spirit of patriotism and belongingness for the country.

To celebrate 5 glorious years of DPS Kolar Road, Bhopal, the school organized
―SMART STROKES‖ an Inter School competition for the classes III to V wherein
various schools of the city participated with great zeal & enthusiasm. The competitions
were held for different segments viz :

1. Clay Modeling - This competition was conducted to take out the very core skills of
students in the field of Art. There was a sense of exhilaration amongst the little minds
while preparing different shapes and models from the colourful clay. The competition
was held separately for students of classes I and II and was judged by Mrs Anita
Bajpai, a renowned Painter and President of Lake City Bonsai Association & Mrs
Prerna Jain, a well known artist in „Mandana and Warli Art‟. There were total nine
schools who participated.

from DPS Kolar Road, Bhopal.The Second position was bagged by Vidhaan S.
Chandran and Third Position by Arjun Rai of the team „ Bumble Bee‟, both from
the school DPS, Bhopal.
From class II, The First position was bagged by Ishpreet Kaur Devgun , second by
Shreya Saxena, both from DPS Bhopal and Third by Niyati Jois from Army Public
School.
2. Matheletics – It was a quiz competition conducted for classes III to V where the
logical reasoning , mathematical aptitude and problem solving skills of the students were
tested. Ten renowned schools of the city participated in the quiz. The list of participating
schools is as follows:

The entire quiz was divided into 6 rounds- namely Exploratory Round, Logical
Reasoning, Dazzling Direct, Golden Cup, Veracious Visual and Rapid Fire Round. The
entire quiz was extremely exciting wherein after every two rounds; eliminating rounds
were there that eliminated four teams in the first four rounds. Remaining six teams faced
the rapid fire round which was the deciding round for the winners.
DPS Kolar Road bagged the Winner‟s Trophy and The Sanskar Valley School
bagged the Runner‟s up Trophy.
3. @pptx –This competition tested the students of classes IV and V for their creativity,
presentation skills, confidence and technical knowledge.

Students created power point presentations on different topics like Technology
revolution- India then and now, e-Waste etc. Competition was judged by Mr.
Amit Taneja, Centre Head of NIIT, Bhopal and Anupa Tatte , faculty NIIT Bhopal.
Delhi Public School, Kolar Road, stood First, with Sanskar Valley at the Second
Position and Sagar Public School , Rohit Nagar at third position.
15.08.2018 On 15th August 2018, we organized „SMART STROKES‟, an Inter School
Competition to celebrate 5 glorious years of Delhi Public School, Kolar Road. Various
competitions were organized like ‗Clay Modeling‘ ‗@pptx‘ and ‗Mathletics‘ and
Schools from across the city participated enthusiastically
to make the event a
grand success. It was
heartening to see
young hands and
minds from Classes I
to V engage in
various activities and
perform to the best
of their abilities.
‗Mathletics‘ tested the students of Classes III to V of their mathematical aptitude, skill
and proficiency. The entire quiz was divided into 6 rounds- namely Exploratory Round,
Logical Reasoning, Dazzling Direct, Golden Cup, Veracious Visual and Rapid Fire
Round.
Delhi Public School, Kolar Road, was declared the champions in an evenly and closely
contested battle of minds, with Sanskar Valley at the Second Position.
‗Clay modeling‘ was organized for the students of Classes I and II of various schools to
showcase their creativity. Tiny tots created different models out of coloured clay, which
was a visual treat.
Delhi Public School, Neelbad, Delhi Public School, Kolar, Road, Army Public School and
Carmel convent were among the winners.
‗@pptx‘ tested the students of Classes IV and V for their creativity, presentation skills,
confidence and technical knowledge. Students created power point presentations on
different topics like Technology revolution- India then and now, e-Waste etc. Completion
was judged by Mr. Amit Taneja, Centre Head of Bhopal NIIT and Anupa Tatte, NIIT
faculty.

16.08.2018 Inter House Basketball Competition for Boys of classes VI to
VIII was organized by DPS Kolar in the school premises.
Four houses namely Amaltas , Gulmohar, Kachnar, Palash
house students participated in the said tournament.
In qualifying match Amaltas house defeated Kachnar house and
Palash house defeated Gulmohar house.
The tournament was organized to promote the spirit of
sportsmanship and to develop basketball skill among the
students.
In the final match , Amaltas house showed its supremacy and took the lead right from the
beginning and clinched the title by defeating Palash house by a margin of 3 points
.Priyansh Chauhan was declared as player of the match.
18.08.2018 Delhi Public School, Kolar Road Bhopal added yet another feather in their illustrious cap
with two budding students making their Alma Mater proud as they held aloft a glittering
trophy relishing this glorious moment. DPS Kolar Road Bhopal emerged the winners of
the Inter-School English Debate Competition organized by Green ValleySenior
Secondary School Bhopal on Saturday, 18 August 2018.
In their maiden attempt, the organizing
school had invited 10 schools from across
Bhopal . Ananya Jaitly and Anurag Chittavar
of X-D formed the team, speaking for and
against the motion respectively on a very
contemporary and appropriate topic ―
Technology is making us lazy ―it stated. All
the contestants put forth their views and
arguments skillfully and convincingly.
Speaking for the motion Ananya Jaitly stood
first while Anurag Chittavar was adjudged
third Speaking against the motion.The School
bagged the ‗Best School ‗Trophy too.
23.08.2018 An Inter House Hindi Aashubhashan Competition was
organised for the students of classes IX toXI on 21/8/18.
All four houses performed very well. Amaltas stood first,
Palash and Gulmohar second and Kachnar bagged third
position.
27.08.2018 The students of class VI conducted special Assembly on Janmashtami and Ganesh
Chaturthi on 27th
Aug, 2018. The assembly highlighted the importance of Lord Shri
Krishna and lord Ganesh in our lives.
The students presented a wonderful show in which they showcased the
importance of Lord Krishna and Lord Ganesh in our lives. The main character of
the Bhagwad Gita, the most popular and loved God from Hindu mythology
mighty Lord Krishna. Krishna is so much a part of life of people that Krishna
seems to be a living God. Krishna is considered to be the avatar, a reincarnation of
Lord Vishnu just like Lord Rama. The teachings of Shri
Krishna from Bhagwad Gita are the fundamentals you can base your life on.
Ganesha's form is highly charming and mesmerizing. The cute little chubby boy
like body with an elephant head has been inspiring devotion and love in the
hearts of millions down the history. While the form of Lord Ganesh evokes our
imaginations and pleases us beyond compare, there
is also deep spiritual
symbolism behind the form of lord Ganesh.
On this special occasion the students also
pledged to keep their surroundings clean under
the Swachh Bharat Abhivan.
The occasion was graced by Madam Principal.

Delhi Public School, Kolar Road Bhopal added yet
another feather in their illustrious cap with its student,
Jahnavi Palanduk securing second position in the
debate contest organized by Pandit Kunjilal Dubey
National Parliamentary Institution. The topic for
the competition was "Is India's Parliament a mirror of
democracy?"
74 students of different schools participated in this
competition. Jahanvi was honored with the sum of Rs.
7,500 and certificate by the institution. Principal Mrs. Vandana Dhupar congratulated the

―Our environment is the biggest gift of mother nature to us ―
“ PRAKRITI MAHOTSAV‖ - a plantation drive
, initiated by CBSE, was organized today in DPS
Kolar Road, by the Department of Science
for the students of class VIII. The main objective
was to make our generation more sensitive and
concerned about their environment. The plantation
drive was organized under the guidance of Madam
Principal Mrs. Vandana Dhupar. During the
plantation drive, saplings of the trees, native to
Bhopal were planted by students which included -
Guava, Mango ,Neem , Fig, Palash, Amaltas, Kachnar, Gulmohar , Amla ,Lemon, Scared
Fig etc. The trees were given the name of martyrs for identification and to commemorate
their contribution in the freedom struggle and the Kargil War. Students had
enthusiastically participated in this drive and took responsibility to take care of the
planted saplings in future.

Parihar and Ayushi Katulkar of class VII were part
of the SGFI Bhopal Division Girls Football
team. During a match organized by
State School Game federation of India the team
won the Bronze Medal and stood Third .
24.08.2018 On 24/8/18 Inter House Shlok Gayan competition was
organized by Department of Hindi at DPS Kolar Road.
The competition was for the students of classes 6-8
.Students participated enthusiastically. Amaltas House
stood first, Gulmohar stood second and Palash stood
third.

―MATHLETICS‖ on 29th August 2018. The Inter-
House Quiz competition tested the best students of
Classes IV and V of the different houses for their
mathematical aptitude, skill and proficiency. Each
team comprised of four champions from each house
.The event was marked with great zeal and
enthusiasm among the participants and audience. All
the rounds were very exciting and thrilling. The
participants of Palash House secured the First position
in a very evenly and closely contested battle of minds. The Headmistress Mrs Anuradha
Telang praised the Department of Mathematics for the quiz concept & designing.The
participants for their excellent display of mathematical ability and prowess were also
appreciated.

The National Sports Day was celebrated on
29th August, 2018 at DPS Kolar Road with a
lot of enthusiasm. The celebration commenced
with the speech throwing light on the
importance of the National Sports Day,
followed by it was the musical rendition by the students. Further emphasizing the theme
there was a Nukkad Natak staged by the students of class IX. The performances not only
entertained the audience but also spread awareness about what role sports play in an
individual‘s life. Principal, Ms. Vandana Dhupar, paid her tributes to one of the greatest
field hockey players of all time and urged the students to give priorities to sports and
physical activities. Various activities were organized for the entire day in the school.
The School also organized a street play, highlighting the theme ―Sports Fervour‖ on 29th
August, 2018 at DB City Mall at 4:00p.m. Students of Classes VI to IX participated in the
Street Play. Tributes were also paid to the winners of the Asian Games so far.
The play showcased the various benefits of engaging in sports. Apart from physical
growth, sports foster competitive spirit, sportsmanship, confidence and mental growth.
The play was immensely appreciated by the audience and the efforts of the students were
lauded.

enthusiastically participated in Football

students to learn beyond the classroom periphery but
also are more effective teaching aids .
Keeping this in mind , DPS Kolar organized a visit to
Dainik Bhaskar press , Govindpura on 29 August
2018 for the students of classes VIII and X . The
students were divided into three batches to visit the
press. They learnt about the printing process , CTP
unit and colour integration and how fifty thousand
copies are printed in an hour . It was a great learning and informative experience for
students.

The middle level team comprising of Rishabh Kothari of class VIII, Akshat Sharma of
class VII and Dhairya Garg of class VI soared the flag of DPS Kolar high in the sky by
winning the Inter DPS General Knowledge Quiz(Regional Level) and qualifying for the
National Level Grand Finale to be held in Delhi in the month of December.
The senior team comprising of Dev Jhawar of class XI , Aditiya Singh of Class X and
Yashas Shende of class IX also made it to the final round .

SGFI cricket trials (under -19) Young Dipsites
clinch their place in the SGFI Bhopal team.
Three girls Kritika Dubey of class XI, Shailina
Singh of class X & Ashvi Patel of class VI of
Delhi Public School Kolar were selected in
Girls under-19 category out of 40 girls from
different schools across the city.
In the Under 19 boys category, 3 boys of our
school Lavin Mandhani of class XI, Rohit Soni
of class XI & Rajat Chauhan of class XI were selected out of 80 students from different
schools.
