Experience It! The Kremlin The Moscow “Moskovskiy Kreml”, sometimes referred to as simply the Kremlin, is a
historic fortified complex located in the heart of Moscow. It commands and
dominates a position overlooking the Moskva River, Saint Basil's Cathedral, Red
Square and the Alexander Garden. It is the best known of the kremlins of Russia
(Russian citadels). It includes five palaces, four cathedrals and the enclosing Kremlin
Wall with watch towers. The complex serves as the official residence of the President
of the Russian Federation.
The name Kremlin means "fortress", and is often used as a metonym to refer to the
government of the Soviet Union (1922–1991) and its highest members (such as
general secretaries, premiers, presidents, ministers and commissars), in the same way
that the metonym Élysée Palace refers to the President of the French Republic, the
White House refers to the Executive Office of the President of the United States and
Number 10 Downing Street or Whitehall refers to the Offices of the Prime Minister
of the United Kingdom and the British Government. It is still used in reference to the
government of the Russian Federation today.
PLEASE NOTE: Book Now rates valid until Jan 03, 2014, valid on air inclusive packages only. A visa is required for travel to Russia. For your convenience Collette recommends using CIBT visa service to ensure accuracy and timeliness of visa processing. The approximate visa cost is $145 CAD (includes CIBT fees as well as consular fees) plus shipping, subject to change. Please contact CIBT or visit their website at www.cibtvisas.ca or check with your consulate for more information. Rates are approximate and can be changed at any time based on governing authority.
The cruise line reserves the right to impose a supplemental fuel charge. Should this occur, you will be notified of the additional charges.
To complete your holiday, we include roundtrip airport-to-hotel transfers when purchasing Collette airfare with your tour. If you have arranged for your own air, we are pleased to provide you the option of purchasing these transfers. Please note that all transfers will leave at pre-scheduled times.
Single accommodations are limited to two cabins and available on request only. Suites are available on request only and are at an additional cost.
All cabins on board your ship are outside cabins on Main and Middle Deck, and are identical in size and amenities. Please note: Cruise ships have a limited quantity of cabins available in each cabin category. We will make every effort to accommodate your cabin category
preference at the time of booking. If the cabin category preferred is not available at the time of booking, the next closest category available will be offered and a surcharge may apply. There are many trip highlights offered onboard throughout the cruise; however, these are scheduled at the sole discretion of the cruise line and may not take place on the exact day they are featured in the itinerary. Some optional shore excursions can only be purchased on the ship. Payment can only be made in the form of CASH with Rubles, U.S. Dollars or Euros. If you wish to exchange money while in Russia, it is highly recommended that you exchange money upon arrival in Russia (at the airport or during the city tour the following day).
For passengers purchasing their own air, transfers to the hotel in Moscow are provided ONLY from Domodedovo Airport (DME).
This tour requires average physical activity. You should be in good health, able to climb stairs and walk reasonable distances, possibly over uneven grounds and cobblestone streets.
Port taxes and fees of approximately $145 CAD per person, quoted at time of printing, are included in the quoted land cost of your tour. Should these charges increase, the cruise line reserves the right to add a supplemental fee.
Air rate and schedule are applicable for groups of 10 or more travelling on the same flights and dates.

Moscow
Sergiev Posad with Lunch $140 CAD
Today take a trip outside of the city to visit one of the great administrative and cultural centres of Russia. Today
Sergiyev Posad is one of the cities of the Moscow Golden Ring that grew from what was once a lonely 15th century
monastery. The town is named for St. Sergius. It has a strong religious connection, so strong, that the Soviets changed
the name to Zagorsk in 1930 in an attempt to obliterate its religious connotations. Today, you will visit this Golden
Ring city, the local factory, the Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius, and enjoy a traditional lunch in the city. Duration:
Approximately 4 hours. Please note a minimum of 1 passenger is required. Transportation is included.
Moscow by Night (Metro) $50 CAD
The Moscow Metro was one of the Soviet Union’s most extravagant and glorified projects. Originally planned for
construction from the days of the Czars, building was delayed by WWI and the October Bolshevik Revolution. Over
the next 75 years, the communists started and expanded construction in various stages. The underground architecture
and “communal paradise” was designed as both a people mover and also as potential bunkers during a nuclear war
with certain sections being reserved for the sole use of the NKVD and later KGB agents. Today, the metro is one of
the largest mass transit systems in the world. Tonight, become a Moscovite as you take a ride through history on this
famous metro to experience Moscow after hours. Duration: Approximately 2 hours. Please note a minimum of 1
passenger is required. Transportation is included.
St. Petersburg
Peterhof $140 CAD
No trip to St. Petersburg is complete without a visit to this Baroque masterpiece. Known as the “Russian Versailles,”
the complex of Peterhof Palace is surely one of the best examples of grandiose and regal excess in the world. The
grounds, gardens and palace courts were designed on the orders of Peter the Great, to be a summer palace on the
shores of the Baltic Sea. The entire site and city are today listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. You will visit the
Grand Palace, stroll the upper and lower gardens, and walk down the steps of the magnificent Grand Cascade. Surely a
once-in-a-lifetime visit and a highlight of your trip. Duration: Approximately 7 hours. Please note a minimum of 15
passengers is required. Transportation is included.
