We hope that you and your children have enjoyed this term, there has been a lot go- ing on with a variety of sporting activities, Feet First Dance Festival, our successful his- tory day and trips to support our learning. This week we have loved looking at the Easter gardens and taking part in our Easter service at Pip and Jim’s. The staff and governors were very proud to receive the ‘Excellent’ judgement from our recent SIAMS inspection. The Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools or SIAMS inspection focuses on the impact of the Church school's Christian vision on pupils and adults. This involves looking at the school’s Christian vision, the provision the school makes because of this vision and how effective this provision is in enabling all pupils to flourish. They look in depth at behaviour, attendance, attain- ment and progress too. As mentioned in our letter the new inspection framework has changed with it being even more difficult to achieve the new ‘excellent’ grade as the Church of England raises the benchmark. To achieve it really does make us all proud. Today we will be saying goodbye to Mrs. Baldrey. Mrs Baldrey has been a teacher at the school since 2002 and has taught many children in her time here. Staff, pupils and parents will miss her and wish her luck. We are also saying congratulations to Mrs. Knight who is expecting her first child in September. Year 6 1950s diner

Year 6 parents were treated to a wonderful 1950s diner experience on Wednesday afternoon, they watched some great dancing

and singing and even joined in with a bit of jive and line dancing. It was all washed down with milkshakes and cookies. Thank you

to Mr. and Mrs. Robinson for their dance tuition.

Parent Helpers

Wanted!

Can you spare a few

hours each week, if so we are looking for par-

ents to help in school. Please come to the office

and let us know of your availability.

Year 4 trip to Bishop’s Wood

Year 4 enjoyed their trip to Bishop’s wood , particularly the campfire and den building.

Crisp packet and Prin-

gles tub recycling…

Our first boxes of crisp packets and

Pringles tubes have been recycled.

Every year countless pieces of crisp

packets end up in landfill sites

across the UK. Walkers are working

with TerraCycle to put an end to

this enormous loss of resource. The

Crisp Packet Recycling Scheme will

fund schools and organisations and

reduce waste. Boxes can be found

in the front entrance and dining

area.

Congratulations to Reuben Banks (Y5) who was

picked as one of the top 20 poems from 700 submit-

ted to the competition launched in September.

Colour changer

An Autumn crunch when you step on me

Easy to find

Easy to rip

Bugs nibble on them

Who knew about it?

Comes from barky trees in the dark breeze

Stays still like a rock

Colour of grass

Lots of them fall off trees

They are all around you,

In October—the winter breeze.
