    The Project objective was to reduce rural

    poverty in 20 districts of northwest Bangladesh

    by increasing income generating activities and

    employment in livestock-related enterprises for

    tenure arrangements, marketing and

    processing problems, status of livestock, and

    gender and health status of the target

    beneficiaries.

    The Integrated Food Security Program (IFSP)

    was designed to improve food security of

    vulnerable households. The five-year (fiscal

    the primary sector and convert themefficiently into learning outcomes for all

    children.

    The Financing Memorandum for the

    PROMOTE project was signed in January

    1996 for an amount of 36 million Euro.

    Its main goal is to facilitate and accelerate a

    smooth transition to a more gender-

    sensitive and equitable society in rural

    Bangladesh by promoting girl-friendlysecondary schools and high quality, gender

    sensitive teaching at secondary schools in

    rural areas. The purpose of the project is to

    facilitate the employment of more and

    better-prepared women teachers in rural

    secondary schools.
