How The Fight Began

The first time she tried running away she just ran she didn't even follow the northern star. She was working for Miss. Susan at the time as a house worker. She helped with the baby and she served the food. But if she even did the smallest thing she got whipped by Miss. Susan. She tried to steal a sugar cub and Miss. Susan caught her and before she could whip Minty she ran right out the door. Then she went back to Mr. Brodas plantation. Mr. Brodas was her first slave owner. Harriet Tubman was so brave and she was so young and alone when she stood up for herself and ran. Harriet went back to Miss. Susan then because she was starving. And she got beat so much she nearly died. But the her mother nursed her back to health like she always does.

Harriet’s First Husband

Around 1844 she married a free black named John Tubman and took his last name. She loved him very much at first and she made in a beautiful, colorful quilt for there wedding night. But when she told him about her wanted to run away and how they could run away. John told her that if she did that he would personally go up to Mr. Bodas himself and tell him of what she had down. After that Harriet Tubman was scared of John Tubman. She was so scared to couldn’t even be in the house except to sleep. After she ran away and she went on a rescue mission before. She went to bring her husband with her. But when she found him he was married , with a baby on the way. She was devastated, she still loved him after everything he did to her. John Tubman, died in the war. But then she married someone named Nelson Davis

When She Made it to FreedomThe first time Harriet felt freedom she was so happy she said it felt like heaven. Right when she crossed that

border she was so happy. After she experienced the overwhelming joy of making being free, she made a vow to herself that she will rescue her family and her friends. And that is what she did. She got a job at a hotel to get money to get her family. She worked so hard at a hotel (it was her first real job were she got to keep all the money). But after she worked for a long time she yearned enough money to buy a gun. What she took on her to get her friends and fellow Native Americans.
