PRINCIPALS LETTER
Mary Donohue
Thank you to the PTO Volunteers for the successful Holiday Shoppe and Pancake Breakfast. Both were well attended and fun events. We have some exciting things coming up in December. Operation Holiday Wrap is almost complete. What a great way to show our compassion and generosity to those in need. We are looking forward to the Christmas Concert on the 20th. The students are busy preparing to get you into the holiday spirit. Thanks to the generosity of the HTEF, starting in January, the entire school will assist in creating an amazing mural in the Middle School Hallway. Please read about this special event below to see how you can join in on the fun. Enjoy your potentially snowy weekend.
HARDING TOWNSHIP EDUCATION
FOUNDATION:
The Harding Township Education Foundation is proud to sponsor a
Mural Residency with artist Caren Frost Olmsted.
Beginning the week after our holiday break, HTS is thrilled to
announce that Artist Caren Frost Olmsted will be at our school for
the month of January working with every student at HTS to create a
customized mural that will be painted on the front wall as you
enter the Middle School Building. The mural will transform the
visual character of our school and unleash the artist in each student

that participates in the creation of the stunning, theme driven mural. We are currently developing designs that will
epitomize the HTS culture and community. There will be an opportunity for your children or your entire family to
create a lasting legacy within the mural. There will be more information coming in the next few weeks in your
child’s backpack. To see examples of other murals in schools around the area, click on the link below.

A link to a Sign up Genius will be sent out shortly. Many volunteers are needed to make the mural a
success. From set up and prep work, volunteering to assist the students when they paint and/or touch ups
in the end. We hope you can find some time to contribute to this fun activity.

With the holidays coming, I know many families will be traveling and attending special events, please make sure the nurse is aware that your child(ren) will not be at school or if they will be arriving late (past 8:25).
