No hard copy report cards will be sent home. Report cards will be available on-line at the end of the school day on December 8, 2017. Within Power School, you will be able to see a “Report Cards” link listed under the Navigation Bar in the Parent Portal. This link will be active from December 8 22, 2017. If you click on the link, you will be able to view the report card, as well as have the option to print it. Parents in grades K-5 were given instructions for creating their Power School accounts at conferences, since elementary grades are only posted at the end of each trimester. Please note, for grades 6-8, the Parent Portal will be closed from December 1, 2017 end of school on December 8th, as teachers work to complete their report cards. Thank you for your cooperation. Middle School Band/Jazz Band – 6:00 p.m. in the Band Room 4th Grade Band – 6:30 p.m., 4th Grade Chorus 6:45 p.m. in Mrs. Rosenfeld’s room (M105)

Middle School Chorus – 6:30 p.m. in Ms. Gareau’s room (M102) 5th Grade Band -6:30 p.m., 5th Grade Chorus 6:45 p.m. in Mrs. Engelsman’s room (M107)

Students must wear their concert attire during both the daytime performance

and the evening performance.

All concert performers should wear:

A black blouse or collared shirt Black pants or skirt

Or Black dress Dark, solid-colored, closed-toe shoes

A “splash” of red or green (tie, belt, headband, etc.) No jeans or sneakers!

Middle School students are needed to help at the PTO Pancake Breakfast

this Saturday, December 2, from 8:30am-11:30am. It's a great opportunity to earn

community service hours! Students can show up at the HTS Cafeteria starting

at 8:30am ready to help out!

GRADE NEWS:

The Class of 2019 will be selling La Di Da gift certificates at the entrance of the gym and near the Elementary School Office during parent-teacher conferences. Please stop by and purchase a gift certificate

to help support the 7th grade class! Thank you!

Kids Holiday Shoppe: When: Friday, Dec 1st from 8:30AM - 3PM Saturday, Dec 2nd from 9AM - 2PM Where: Room M104 (located near the gym) This program makes it possible for children to experience the joy of choosing their own special holiday gifts for family and friends. Please see instructions on the "money control" envelope and return to school by Friday.

Pancake Breakfast: When: Saturday, Dec 2nd from 9AM - 11AM Where: HTS cafeteria Price: $10/Adult $5/Child Enjoy a hearty and delicious breakfast before heading over to Kids Shoppe for some holiday shopping! Register for Winter Basketball Now! Winter basketball registration is now! Clinics are offered for Harding girls and boys in grades K through 3 and

competitive teams for grades 4 through 8. If you have questions, please contact our basketball program

Lacrosse Registration Opens December 1st! Registration for Lacrosse will open in early December. There will be the Minilaxers clinic for Harding boys and girls in grades K-2, boys lacrosse for Harding boys in grades 3-4, and girls lacrosse for Harding girls in grades 3-8. KEMMERER LIBRARY CHILDREN’S PROGRAMS:

Friday, December 1 and Saturday, December 2, 10 am–4 pm, Holiday Boutique. Please consider doing some

holiday shopping at the Library’s Holiday Boutique! There will be a range of vendors selling toys, jewelry, paintings

and other gift ware. We also have some beautiful children’s book baskets for sale as well as the chance to win a

‘Magic and Wonder’ basket in our special holiday raffle! (the draw will be made at the ‘ZaZa’ event, see below). All

proceeds benefit the Library.

Sunday, December 3, 3-4 pm is the next meeting of the Chat ‘n’ Chew Book Club where ‘The Inquisitor’s Tale, or,

The Three Magical Children and Their Holy Dog’ by Adam Gidwitz will be discussed. All Middle School students

welcome. Please sign-up online if you’d like to join.

Friday, December 8, 3:45-4:45 pm, ‘Holiday Crafternoon’. Kids in grades K-8 are invited to join us to make a

cute and cuddly ‘no-sew sock snowman’. All you need to bring is an old sock to give him a special hat!

Friday, December 8, 3:45-4:45 pm, Card Trading Club. If crafts aren’t your thing, why not drop-in to the

Football/Pokemon/Lego card trading club in the Library Lounge? All welcome.

Friday, December 15, 3:45-4:45 pm, ‘ZaZa’s Perfect Pie’. Elana Iaciofano, author-illustrator and pizzaiola

extraordinaire will be in the house to talk about her fun and beautiful children’s book (www.zazasperfectpie.com).

A wonderful opportunity for anyone who likes pizza – and books! Come and enjoy her presentation, try something

delicious and have her sign a book for yourself or to give as a gift. It promises to be a really fun event!!

NEW, beginning Saturday, January 6, 10-11:30 am, ‘Crochet Club’. Kids in Grades 2-8 are invited to sign-up for a

4 week beginners crochet class to be held on Saturday mornings through January. Suitable for both boys and girls!

GREEN VILLAGE FIRE DEPARTMENT EVENTS:

Visit from Santa

Sunday, December 3, 2017 at 6 p.m.

Santa Claus will make his annual visit to the Green Village Firehouse at 6 pm. Families can come and watch as Santa

arrives by fire truck to light up the tree. After Santa lights the tree, he will proceed into the fire house to hear the

children’s Holiday wishes. Complementary refreshments and cookies will be provided by the Auxiliary of the Green

Village Fire Department. Before going to the firehouse to visit with Santa, you are welcome to join your neighbors

at the United Methodist Church in Green Village for their annual Hot Dog Supper beginning at 4:30. At 5:45 the

group will walk from the church down a nostalgic luminary lit road singing Christmas Carols to await Santa’s

arrival. Music will be performed by the Chatham Brass Quintet. All are welcome to these free events. For more

HTS COMMUNITY CLASSIFIEDS:

Members of our school community are welcome to send classified ads for publication in our weekly news bulletin. Ads must be emailed by Wednesday at 4:00pm to [email protected] to be included in the Friday edition and must be ready to cut and paste. Ads will be run for three weeks only. Commercial ads or graphics will not be accepted. At the end of three weeks if you would like the ad to appear again, you must resubmit the information. Ads may be omitted due to space limitations and will be run the next week.
