Immigration Visa and Permits Information tailored to visiting researchers from Brazil, China,
France, Germany and Israel
• All prospective visiting researchers must apply for a work permit and/or applicable visa prior to arrival. Allow 3-‐4 months for processing.
• Hosting faculty members must complete the Employer Compliance application and pay a $230 fee per student to Citizenship and Immigration Canada.
• Temporary Resident Visa (entrance document) required for Brazil, China and Israel.
• Effective March 15, 2016: Visa-‐exempt foreign nationals (ex. France and Germany) who fly to or transit through Canada will need Electronic Travel Authorization. Exceptions include U.S. citizens and foreign nationals with a valid visa.

China Scholarship Council Scholarships to support Chinese undergraduate, PhD and visiting PhD students, visiting scholars, and Postdoctoral fellows completing studies or research in Canada. Canada-‐China Scholars Exchange Program (DFATD and CSC) For Canadian academics, students and professionals to study or do research in subject areas related to China at participating Chinese institutions. Scholarships available for studies and research, for a combination of studies and language studies or for language studies only. Students do 4 -‐12 months and midcareer professionals, professors and researchers do no less than 8 weeks.
