Peoria Memorial Mass will be at the

Resurrection Mausoleum Chapel on

The Holy Hour for the “Rights of the Unborn Child” will be

held at 7:00pm, Monday, July 2nd 2018 at the new location Immaculate Conception Convent, 2408 West Heading Avenue, in West Peoria, Il. It is normally held every first Monday and consists of Benediction, the Rosary, and other prayers. Please join us in praying to God for the protection of these innocent lives and the restoration of their Constitutional rights.

THE THIRD ANNUAL SOPHIA SUNDAY BENEFIT will be held at the Knights of Columbus Hall at 7403 N. Radnor Road, Peoria, Illinois on July 1, 2018 from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. There will be a pulled pork dinner which includes cole slaw, baked beans and chips available for $9.00 or a hot dog dinner for $5.00, bake sale, silent auction and fellowship. Dine in or carry out dinners will be available. Some of the silent auction items that have been donated so far are a Kroger gift card for $200, 4 White Sox lower bowl tickets, overnight packages for hotels, You Pick Two once a month for a year from Panera Bread along with many other items and specialty baskets.

Dear Parishioners,

It looks like I have to say “goodbye” once again to you. It is very

difficult for me to do this for the second time. I have told many

this is bittersweet for me because while I will miss you all so

much, I will be closer to my family. I was born and raised in

Grand Rapids, MI, which is only about two and a half hours from

Dearborn Heights. I also have relatives in the Detroit area, and

will be closer to them.

I want to thank you all for the great love and charity you have

shown to me, especially as your pastor these past four years. So

many of you think nothing of stepping up and giving of

yourselves at the drop of a hat. This is a true example to me of

how Christ has impacted your lives for the better. I am happy if I

helped in any way to assist you on your journey to God’s

Kingdom. And even though I was assigned to be your shepherd,

many times it was you who showed me the way, through your

patience, your kindness, your longsuffering, and your forgiveness.

I know I have made many mistakes, and if I have hurt any of you,

please try to find it in your heart to forgive me. I truly am sorry for

this. I am far from perfect, but I hope and pray that I can continue

to look to Christ and to people like yourselves to help me

improve.

Please pray for me as I will for you. This parish has truly been a

blessing for me, and I have learned so much from all of you, and I

hope I have helped you in some way. I thank you so much for

allowing me to be your pastor. I leave you with the blessing that

St Francis gave to Brother Leo and to the friars, based on

Numbers 6:24-26 from the Old Testament:

“The Lord bless you and keep you.

May He show His face to you and have mercy.

May He turn His countenance to you and give you peace.

The Lord bless you!”
