Liturgy: Fifth Sunday of Easter Readings: Acts of the Apostles 6:1-7 1 Peter 2:4-9 Gospel: John 14:1-12 Message: Trusting in God and believing in Jesus Christ is the antidote to the troubled heart. God is our ultimate and eternal security. Jesus is the way to come to the Father. Jesus’ life on earth is filled with dramatic evidence of God’s power working through him. Only through Faith in God is there security against all that life can do to us, and against the fear of death.

Intentions May 11-17 May 11 Frank, Emma, & Earl Pavlichek May 12 Living & Deceased members of Floyd & Theresa Welch Family Living & Deceased members of Roman Menting Family May 13 Leona Baraniak Deceased members of the Borowczyk Family May 14 Joseph, Catherine, & Wayne Lese Mary & Laddie Gregurich May 15 Gene Galuska May 16 Audrey Ourada Living and Deceased members of Joseph & Mary Rank May 17 Marian Gilbert Fred Berner Stanley & Betty Koss An Act of Spiritual Communion My Jesus I believe that you are present in the Blessed Sacrament. I love you above all things and I desire you with all my heart. Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally I ask you to come spiritually into my heart. I embrace you as if you were already in my heart and unite myself to you completely. Please do not let me ever be separated from you. Amen

Happy Mother’s Day Wishing all Mothers the Happiest of all days today. Take time to enjoy all the blessings God has given you.

Remember In Prayer Reginald Pierret, Daniel Tessmer, and Audrey Arlen entered eternal life. Please remember Reginald, Daniel, and Audrey and their families in

your prayers. May God grant them eternal peace and joy, and comfort to their families.

May is a month dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary, here is a beautiful prayer for all of us to recite.

"Dearly beloved Mother, grant, if it is possible, that I may have no other spirit but yours to know Jesus and his divine will; that I may have no other soul but yours to praise and glorify the Lord; that I may have no other heart but yours to love God with a love as pure and passionate as yours. I do not ask you for visions, revelations, feelings of devotion, or spiritual pleasures. It is your privilege to see God clearly; it's your privilege to enjoy heavenly bliss; it's your privilege to triumph gloriously in heaven at the right hand of your Son and to hold absolute sway over angels, men, and demons; it is your privilege to dispose of all the gifts of God, just as you wish . . . The only grace I beg you to obtain for me is that every day and every moment of my life I may say: Amen, so be it, to all that you did while on earth; amen, so be it, to all that you are now doing in heaven; amen, so be it, to all that you are doing in my soul, so that you alone may fully glorify Jesus in me for time and eternity." — St. Louis de Montfort

Friday May 1st: In honor of Jane Ostermeier we blessed a new outdoor statue of the Holy Family. We re-consecrated the United States to Mary as the United States Bishops asked all priests to do. We also had 25 people consecrate themselves to Joseph. We encourage everyone to go to the green

space and say a prayer for the healing and strengthening of all families. Mass Intentions We are now accepting Mass Intentions. Please contact St. John Parish office at 715-623-2024 and for SS. Mary & Hyacinth and St. Wenceslaus please contact St. Wenceslaus Parish office at 715-627-2126.

Perspective: WE ARE NOT IN THE SAME BOAT ... I heard that we are all in the same boat, but it's not like that. We are in the same storm, but not in the same boat. Your ship could be shipwrecked and mine might not be. Or vice versa.

For some, quarantine is optimal. A moment of reflection, of re-connection, easy in flip flops, with a cocktail or coffee. For others, this is a desperate financial & family crisis.

For some that live alone they're facing endless loneliness. While for others it is peace, rest & time with their mother, father, sons & daughters.

With the $600 weekly increase in unemployment some are bringing in more money to their households than they were working. Others are working more hours for less money due to pay cuts or loss in sales.

Some families of 4 just received $3400 from the stimulus while other families of 4 saw $0.

Some were concerned about getting a certain candy for Easter while others were concerned if there would be enough bread, milk and eggs for the weekend.

Some want to go back to work because they don't qualify for unemployment and are running out of money. Others want to kill those who break the quarantine.

Some are home spending 2-3 hours/day helping their child with online schooling while others are spending 2-3 hours/day to educate their children on top of a 10-12 hour workday.

Some have experienced the near death of the virus, some have already lost someone from it and some are not sure if their loved ones are going to make it. Others don't believe this is a big deal.

Some have faith in God and expect miracles during this 2020. Others say the worst is yet to come.

So, friends, we are not in the same boat. We are going through a time when our perceptions and needs are completely different.

Each of us will emerge, in our own way, from this storm. It is very important to see beyond what is seen at first glance. Not just looking, actually seeing.

We are all on different ships during this storm experiencing a very different journey.

Realize that and be kind.

NEW DATE Perspective: WE ARE NOT IN THE SAME BOAT ...
