Greetings, We are very excited about our 29th Annual Western Swing Music Festival and Hall of Fame Celebration, to be held August 9-11, 2019, at the Historic Field House in Enumclaw, WA. This festival has allowed us to bring in hundreds of attendees each day for the last 20 years. The NWWSMS will continue to raise money for our education/ scholarship fund. In addition, this year we are honoring our Community Heroes. First responders (police, fire & emergency medical services) will have free admission to the festival with a meal and beverage included. The event will be a full 3-day festival again this year, kicking off with a free covered dish meet and greet on Thursday evening, followed by a jam/dance for our out-of-town guests. The festival officially opens on Friday afternoon. The scheduled entertainment on the main stage will feature local as well as guest western swing musicians, providing music for dancing from 1:00 pm until 11:00 pm, both Friday and Saturday. Over the years, we have been able to bring in award winning and legendary entertainers, along with our favorite local artists from around the Sound. On Sunday the Hall is made ready for the 2019 NWWSMS Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. Selected, special entertainment will open the Hall, playing a breakfast set on stage. Shortly after, the stage will be reset for the Induction Ceremony. Once again, this year we are honored to have Morey and Dorrie Sullivan as Hosts. Morey was part of Hank Thompson and His Brazos Valley Boys, leading the band for many years after Hank’s death. In addition to the festival itself, we are offering a Western Swing Music Camp, featuring Suze Spencer and Tim Dawdy as our lead instructors. The music camp will begin on Wednesday, August 7 and continue through Sunday morning, August 11. After camp, the participants will be welcome to join in the jams and other events offered throughout the weekend. Scholarships are available. A brochure with more information has been included in your packet. At this time we are asking you to help partner with us and sponsor this family-friendly, music event. We have three (3) affordable sponsorship levels to choose from. We accept sponsorships in the form of cash, goods or services! All are needed to add value to this event. Along with our sincere appreciation for your thoughtful gift and the knowledge that it will help meet the needs of our music community, we would be delighted to be able to extend to you the benefits of sponsorship—allow me to show you what they are. I have enclosed a sponsorship form outlining the benefits and this year’s festival brochure for you to review. If you would be so kind as to fill it out the sponsorship form and return it along with a check made payable to the: NWWSMS Attn: Festival Sponsorship PO Box 14003 Mill Creek, WA 98082 All sponsorships MUST be received by July 1, 2019.
