What is Greenwich+Docklands International
Festival?
GDIF is an arts festival that takes place in outdoor spaces across Royal Greenwich and East London.
It is organised by Festival.org, a company that creates free outdoor performing arts events.
There are all kinds of fun and exciting things to see at GDIF, like Greenwich Fair.
When & Where?
Greenwich Fair, GDIF’s ‘festival within a festival’, is on the 23
rd and 24
th June
2018.

On Saturday it starts at 1pm and ends at 9pm. On Sunday it starts at 12pm and ends at 7pm.
Greenwich Fair takes place at Cutty Sark Gardens and on the grounds of the Old Royal Naval College
What is Greenwich Fair like?
It can be crowded.
There are loud noises, but there are also relaxed quieter areas.
There are sometimes lots of other things going on, like food and drink for sale.
There are lots of places to sit down.
There are viewing areas with chairs where you can sit to enjoy the acts.
There are lots of friendly volunteers around who can help you if you have any questions.
Best of all, Greenwich Fair is FREE!
Who goes to GDIF?
At Greenwich Fair, we welcome people of all ages and backgrounds.
A lot of children and families go to Greenwich Fair.
It is a great festival to visit with friends.
MAKING PLANS
Travel
You can come by car or taxi. You can use Blue Badge parking or be dropped off on Welland Street.
Blue Badge parking is very close to the festival.
You can come by bus. Bus routes 129, 177, 180, 199 and 386 all stop close by.
You can come by tube train. You get off at Cutty Sark station on the DLR.
If you come by train, you can walk from the station.
What should I bring?
The festival is outdoors, so you need to be prepared.
If it is sunny, you might need a hat, sunglasses and sun cream.
If it rains you will need a waterproof coat and maybe an umbrella
Food and drink
There are all kinds of restaurants, cafes and market stalls in Greenwich.
There will be some food stalls at Greenwich Fair selling different hot food.
You can also bring your own food and drink.
Toilets
There are public toilets in Discover Greenwich Centre.
There is an adult changing places unit on site.
There will also be portaloos including larger accessible portaloos.
A radar key will be available at the information point for the Cutty Sark Gardens accessible public toilet.
What should I do if I get lost?
You can ask a volunteer for help.
You can go to the Information Point to ask for help
It is a good idea to choose a place to meet with your friends or family when you first arrive in case you get lost.
THINGS TO SEE AND DO
There are outdoor theatre and dance shows
There will be performers who use circus skills. Sometimes they will look like they are flying in the air.
There will be groups of dancers performing.
There will be fun things for children and families to enjoy.
There will be actors performing theatre shows
There will be activities for you to join in.
There are all kinds of other arts experiences, some include taking part.
