Whew! 2014—what a ride. All of us at Victory Motorcycles
are glad you came along for the journey. In the past 12
months, we launched two brand new bikes: Gunner—our
new urban cruiser, and Magnum—our boldest bike to ever
roll off the line. We began a partnership with Iraq and
Afghanistan Veterans of America. Oh, and we set a land
speed record.
2014 was a busy year for Victory and all our riders. But
we’re just getting started.
In case you missed any of the action, this magazine will
recap everything we accomplished last year. To get you
amped up for riding season, we also included a sneak peak
of the excitement still to come. That’s right, we’re not
slowing down. Victory is using this momentum to head into
2015 harder and faster than ever.
Once again, we’re glad you’re with us. Now hang on—it’s
going to be a wild ride.

SLAM IT.The Low-Pro Seat and slammed back end gives the Magnum a sleek profile straight out of the factory. This stance puts a rider in the perfect position to catch every jealous glance.
When the 21” wheel rolls up, it grabs attention and doesn’t apologize for causing a scene. It’s proud to be the largest production bagger wheel on the road.
CRANK IT.You’ll hear it long before you see it—Victory’s loudest sound system ever. Integrated into the custom-painted fairing are SIX speakers, serving up 100 watts of “Hell yeah”. If that’s not enough for you, crank it up even further with a set of accessory saddlebag audio. However you decide to roll, the Victory Magnum sneaks up on no one.
RIDE IT.The Magnum doesn’t just come in four different colors, it arrives in style. To complete the custom look, all paint schemes come with color-matched hinges, a painted dash, painted radiator shroud, and a sleek boomerang windshield.
From the LED headlight up front, to the painted rear fender closeouts, every piece of the Magnum is built on a foundation of attitude. With the muscle and performance to back it up, the Victory Magnum is what envy is made of.

IT’S A LONG ROAD HOME, AND VICTORY IS RIDING WITH VETERANS THE WHOLE WAY.
Victory has a long history of supporting and honoring military personnel and veterans. Nearly one-third of all Victory motorcycle owners have a military affiliation, and Victory is proud to support military personnel, veterans, and first responders with its Heroes Metal program. As a “Thank you” for their service, Victory’s Heroes Metal program offers these individuals $1,000 off the purchase price of a new Victory motorcycle.
To make an even larger commitment to the brave men and women who keep our country free, Victory is teaming up with Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA). Together, we will offer support to the newest generation of American military veterans. IAVA empowers and assists the 2.8 million military veterans of recent conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan as they adjust to life back home.
Victory is proud to support IAVA’s work on behalf of these veterans. We’re helping IAVA to raise awareness of issues veterans face as they transition from their military roles back to civilian life. To help veterans during this difficult time, Victory contributed $500 for every bike sold in
November and December toward IAVA, in a program called The Road Home.
The Road Home kicked off Victory’s support of IAVA this past November, in New York City. A fleet of 10 Victory motorcycles led the IAVA contingent in the nation’s largest Veteran’s Day parade. Four proud military veterans, all Victory owners, were among the riders who led IAVA members proudly marching in the parade. Those Victory-owning veterans, along with nearly 1,000 IAVA members, heard the cheers of tens of thousands of parade-goers who lined the city’s famous Fifth Avenue.
Victory spokesman, actor, and retired U.S. Marine, R. Lee “Gunny” Ermey joined the Victory riders and IAVA. He signed autographs, posed for photos, and delivered a rousing pre-parade speech to IAVA members before they stepped off.

Details of The Road Home and Heroes Metal programs are available at www.VictoryMotorcycles.com/theroadhomeMore information about IAVA and ways to support this outstanding organization are available at www.IAVA.org.
FAST FACTS: IAVAIAVA was founded in 2004 by an Iraq conflict veteran. This past year, it celebrated 10 years of serving America’s “new veterans.”
IAVA is the first and largest non-partisan, non-profit organization representing veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan.
IAVA has nearly 300,000 member veterans and civilian supporters nationwide.
IAVA pioneered historic changes in public policy, like the Post-9/11 GI Bill. The ground-breaking bill helps vets get the education they deserve, and overcome other pressing issues like unemployment and homelessness.
Community is everything to IAVA. With multiple events across the country and veteran leaders from coast to coast, IAVA lets veterans know they are not alone. IAVA lives by its slogan, “We’ve got your back.”

George “Frosty” SturgisLives in: Fredericksburg, MarylandMilitary Service: “I served 22 years in the Air Force, retired in 2003. Twenty-two years in the security forces doing pretty much everything you can think of in the security arena. And that benefits me now in my current job as a Department of Defense contractor.”Rides: Victory Cross Country; his wife Angela rides a Victory Kingpin
“I ride a Victory Cross Country, and my wife, who is a veteran also, rides a Victory Kingpin. We take so many trips, as a matter of fact, our last trip, we just rode up to Maine from Fredericksburg, Virginia. A couple friends rode up there with us and we had a wonderful time. My Victory Cross Country rode beautifully. Oh my gosh,
it’s the best purchase I’ve ever made in a motorcycle.”
Victory’s support of IAVA “is showing respect for those that have served… It’s a way of just letting them know that they have not been forgotten. It’s also a way for Victory to
put their brand on display while at the same time
supporting those troops that have served for our freedom.”
Veterans Day is “a day to remember those that have served before us because obviously the freedom that we receive today came at a price for those that have served. And being a part of that, having served myself, it’s just an opportunity to come out and say ‘thank you’ for those that are still serving.”
Mike WellsLives in: The Washington, D.C., areaMilitary Service: “I was honored enough to be assigned to the Air Force One crew. I flew four presidents. I flew with Presidents Ford, Carter, Reagan, and Bush, and I retired when President Bush got out. Really great career, spent 24 years. So now everything I flew over all those years, I’m getting a chance to see it from the ground. As many times as I’ve been to New York City, I’ve never really seen it before because I always had to work, so this is great.”Rides: Victory Cross Country Tour
“I have had six Victory motorcycles and I’ve loved them. I started out with a Kingpin. I was going to get a Harley – I had never even heard of a Victory – and a friend said I had to check the Victory out. I did and I was so impressed with the bikes. I’ve never had any trouble with any of them. But you’ve got to quit coming out with new models because every time you come out with a new model, then I want one! They’ve really been great motorcycles.”
“I’m really pleased to see the way our veterans are treated today. It was a little different story when we came out of Vietnam. We even got spit on and everything. It’s just wonderful to see how we treat these young troops coming out of Afghanistan and Iraq.”
“I was in a restaurant and there were three soldiers in uniform sitting there. I called the waitress over and said, ‘Could you bring me that check?’ and she said, ‘Sir, we’ve already got three people in line to pay for it.’ It’s just really nice to see them get recognized.

Military Service: “I’m retired Air Force,
22 years, and also a Vietnam vet.”
Rides: 15th Anniversary Cross Country
Tour; previously owned a Cross Roads
“It’s awesome being here [in New
York City] to represent Victory. We just
can’t say it enough, we’re honored to be
here, honored to be recognized today.
I think Victory has done an outstanding
job and we’re just very, very pleased.”
“One thing that I’m really pleased
to see today is how the veterans are
treated today compared to when I
came home from Vietnam in 1969.
Nobody wanted to talk to you, they
actually spit on you in the airport when
we came through San Francisco, called
you names. But you don’t see that
today, and I’m really, really pleased to
see that.”
“Veterans Day to me means looking
back, honoring our veterans, whether
they be from whatever current conflict
we’re in or an older conflict. My father
was a WW II veteran, I have a uncle
that was a Korean War veteran, my
son was in the Marines over in Desert
Storm. There’s a lot of history in our
family for being veterans, so it’s kind
of a day to reflect.”
Robert “Bob” GuleyLives in: Lusby, Maryland
Military Service: “I was in the U.S. Navy
for four years. I was in a squadron
that flew out to the aircraft carriers,
delivering cargo. It was called a VRC-40
and it was a composite squadron that
brought cargo to the carriers.”
Rides: 2004 Victory Touring Cruiser and
2012 Victory Cross Country
“My wife didn’t want to get rid of the
2004, and it’s still a nice bike. It runs
great. It’s my old reliable. You go out,
hit the starter and it fires right up. The
Cross Country is a nice bike. Me and
my wife do a lot of touring and I’ve got
almost 40,000 [miles] on it, so it doesn’t
sit too much.”
“It means a lot, representing Victory.
I was honored to come up here and
represent them.”
“Veterans Day means several
different things. We’re up here
celebrating and giving recognition
to people that served and gave their
lives in past wars, people that are
serving now, protecting our country,
the guys over in Iraq and Afghanistan
– everybody that’s in the military.”

Can’t Pin Me Down.
Josh Boeckman served in a variety of
roles during his 12 years in the U.S. Air
Force. Now Josh is pursuing a diverse
range of career interests to utilize his
varied interests and talents.
Josh of All Trades
Josh served in the Air Force from 1998-
2010, attaining a high rank of E5/Staff
Sergeant. He was deployed to Kuwait,
Iraq, and Afghanistan during that time,
and provided the Air Force with a wide
range of skills.
Josh was trained as a Russian
linguist at the Defense Language
Institute. “But I also ran a gauntlet of
different Intelligence jobs,” Josh said,
“working for agencies such as the
Air Force Intelligence, Surveillance
and Reconnaissance Agency, National
Security Agency, and the Joint Special
Operations Command.” In 2006, Josh
was retrained as Enlisted Aircrew,
and flew for Compass Call out of
Davis-Monthan AFB, specializing in
communications jamming.
Pursuing Diverse Careers
He was med-boarded out of the Air
Force in 2010, and now, while living in
Wapakoneta, Ohio, he is pursuing multiple
career paths.
“After I got out, I attended the Motorcycle
Mechanics Institute in Phoenix, and have
been working on my friends’ bikes out
of my garage,” he said. “I just recently
started a design company with an old
friend. We are putting our artwork onto
T-shirts and selling them.
“We’ve always been big fans of sword
and sorcery movies and books, and have
a great interest in ancient European
peoples, traditions, and folklore, and
our designs reflect this. Our company is
called Fyre+Iron Designs.”
‘Sit Back & Cruise’
When he’s not busy working, Josh likes
to ride his 2004 Victory Vegas. “I like
to get on the road and sit back and
cruise,” he said.
One of his most memorable trips was a
Western tour, and he hopes to ride out
there again:
“In the summer of 2007, two friends
and I took a road trip from Tucson
up to Denver, and then over to Vegas
and back to Tucson. It was pretty
awesome,” he said. “I want to ride old
Route 66 from beginning to end, and
just ride more of the country on my
bike, including riding up to Alaska.”
Josh has his bike customized for a
clean, spare look and outstanding
performance. He installed an internal
throttle in the 16” ape hangers (that
are mounted on 3” risers) so only
the clutch and front brake cables are
visible. To complete this minimalist look,
he moved all switches to the side panels
under the seat.
The seat features a comfortable
sheepskin cover and on the bars is a
stylish Conquest Customs mirror. The
bike has a set of Arlen Ness slash cut
pipes, a Lloydz Motorworkz torque
tube intake, and MSD ignition coils. “My
bike pulls about 93 hp and 96 ft-lbs of
torque,” Josh said.
He painted the bike with truck bed
liner, and blacked out the engine,
Josh replaced the front end with one
from a Kingpin for the wider, beefier
wheel—then removed its front fender.
“I stripped off anything that was only
cosmetic. I bobbed the rear fender
and lowered it by 3” with a Tomahawk
lowering kit.” Josh, that sounds like
one bad bike.

Victory Around the World
Give Raymond “Splash” Valleau credit for
multi-tasking in a way that every Victory
rider would admire. While stationed in
Landstuhl, Germany, this U.S. Army Staff
Sergeant is taking every opportunity to
tour Europe on his beautifully customized
Victory Kingpin.
Victory salutes SSgt Valleau for his
Army service of 14 years—and counting.
Working in satellite communications, this
stint in Germany – six years so far – is his
third overseas deployment. He also served
three years in Iraq (on three deployments)
and one year in Bahrain.
Raymond’s family, his wife Tammie and
their two children (a 12-year-old son and
daughter, age 8), live with him in Germany.
He is sure he’ll stay in the Army for at
least 20 years to make it a career, and has
a goal of reaching 24 years “to allow for
both children to be out of high school.”
An American Motorcycle in Germany
While serving in Germany, Raymond is
enjoying a lot of great Victory riding,
and he’s got plans for much more while
overseas. “I just love to cruise,” he said. “I
ride all year long or until there is too much
ice or too much salt. Heated gear was
made for a reason!”
Raymond rides on a 2005 Kingpin that
includes features of the latest Victory
baggers. He originally had Kingpin
saddlebags on the bike, but has since
installed RPW True Dual exhaust, which
allowed him to mount Cross Country hard
saddlebags. It also has a Corbin seat, LED
lighting, “and a lot of little things,” he said.
“Everywhere in Europe is an amazing
adventure. Less then five minutes from
my house the beautiful countryside begins
and never stops. You can enjoy nice curvy,
floorboard-dragging back roads or head
out on the Autobahn to see how fast a
Victory really will go. By the way, the
Kingpin does great cruising between 100-
115 for hours if needed.”
And on the Autobahn, it does so legally!
Riding On
Where will Raymond’s next ride take
him? Anywhere and everywhere.
“There are still many European
countries I would love to ride in before I
head to my next duty assignment.”
He and Tammie are enjoying Europe’s
scenic byways on the Kingpin, but
you might see them riding a different
Victory when they retire to Washington
state following Raymond’s active
military career.
“When I get back to the States, my
wife wants a touring bike with a better
seat and quieter pipes,” he said, so
“I’m probably going to pick up a Cross
Country Tour.”

VICTORY MOTORCYCLES &
ENGAGE AT-RISK YOUTH TO SET LAND SPEED RECORD
™
This year, Victory took its performance and values off the road to set a land speed record and provide a learning experience for at-risk youths.
Victory Motorcycles partnered with Pine Bush High School’s Starz Program, Helping With Horsepower. Laura Klock, of Klock Werks Kustom Cycles, developed the Helping With Horsepower Bike Rebuild Program to help keep kids in school. Using motorcycles, at-risk youths learn life lessons like teamwork, self-confidence, and problem solving. This year, they also learned a valuable lesson about speed.
Lloyd Greer of Lloydz Motorworkz partnered
with Victory to implement Laura’s curriculum in his latest endeavor. Lloyd led these young adults, hands-on, as they built a Victory Hammer capable of setting national records on the legendary Bonneville
Salt Flats.
The team modified the Freedom 106-powered Victory with a Procharger B-1 Supercharger. After beefing it up to the tune of 200 horsepower, the Hammer was ready to take down the previous AMA Bonneville National record of 168.081 mph.
In a feat of true performance, Brian Klock set the new record at 173.321 mph.
As a company, Victory Motorcycles is honored to work with Lloydz Motorworkz, Klock Werks Kustom Cycles, and Helping With Horsepowerto achieve this record.
“We are proud to be part of this special program,” said Steve Menneto, VP Motorcycles for Polaris. “Using Victory motorcycles to teach our youth the value of hard work and achieving goals is a terrific way to contribute to the future.”
Likewise, Lloyd is inspired by Victory’s unrelenting pursuit of performance. Not content with just being the fastest, he plans break his own land speed record in 2015. Now that’s a true lover of speed. Stay tuned to Victory for all the updates you need to keep pace with these monumental achievements.
Good luck, Lloyd!

GREAT PLACES TO RIDE GREAT PLACES TO RIDE
The RouteHeading north from San Francisco, take Highway 101 over the Golden Gate Bridge. After three miles, look for the Stinson Beach, Mil l Valley, Hwy 1 North exit. Alternatively, you can avoid San Francisco traffic by starting the route in Mil l Valley. A common jumping off point is the Dipsea Café. It ’s right off the exit, and the coffee and syrup flow freely.
Stay on Highway 1 until just before the l ittle town of Jenner. Then cut inland on the 116 and follow the Russian River through the redwoods to Monte Rio. At Monte Rio, take the Bohemian Highway towards the Bodega Highway, and take this opportunity to blast some Queen in your speakers.
Take a left and ride through the back-side of Sonoma Valley wine country into Sebastopol. Here, Bodega High-way turns into Bodega Avenue. Look for Gravenstein Highway South, the name of 116 going through Sebastopol. Take a right on it and you’l l be back on Hwy 101. Now it’s time to enjoy the ride all over again as you head back south to San Francisco.
Th is route is approximately 140 mi les. Fol lowing the speed l imits, i t wi l l take you around four hours, not inc luding stops.
What To Watch ForHighway 1 offers something for every riding style. The route varies from sweepers to twisties to wide-open straightaways. Lanes can be narrow, so watch out for bicycles and cars—and try not to be distracted by the breathtaking views. There are plenty of places to pull over and enjoy the scenery, but in peak season, these sites fi l l up fast.
Where To EatThere’s no shortage of restaurants, small coffee shops, and delis along the route. We’re partial to Tony’s, about 90 minutes outside of San Francisco. Located right on Tomales Bay, north of Point Reyes Station, Tony’s serves up fresh seafood, including their specialty – barbecued oysters! Keep your eye out for this hidden gem—it sits by itself right on the water!
— Aaron Heinrich, Asphalt & Dirt
O v e r v i e wCalifornia is a biker’s dream. The best example of this rider’s paradise is the aptly named Highway 1. Close to the ocean, the northern route of Highway 1 offers the best mile-for-mile scenery. Along the rugged coast, you’ll pass through quaint northern California towns like Stinson Beach and Bodega Bay. As you head inland towards the Bodega Highway, the blues of the Pacific Ocean will give way to thick redwood forests.
