ONE OF A KIND: Since the RBI became an official statistic in 1920, in the 15-5 win on 7/30 vs Pit Brandon Phillips became the first player in Major League history to produce in a game 4 hits, 2 HR, 7 RBI and 2 stolen bases...the jersey he wore that night was sent to the Cooperstown Hall of Fame.

TEAMMATES: Jay Bruce (35 2b, 26 hr, 87rbi) and Todd Frazier (43 2b, 35hr, 89rbi) were 2 of only 9 players in the Major Leagues and the only set of teammates with at least 35 doubles, 26 homers and 87rbi.

HISTORY ON THE HILL: From 8/23-9/2 rookie RHP Raisel Iglesias recorded 13, 10 and 10 strikeouts to become the first pitcher in modern Reds history, rookie or non-rookie, to record at least 10 strikeouts in 3 consecutive apps...J.J. Hoover became the first pitcher in modern Reds history to follow a 10-game losing streak (all in 2014) with a 7-game winning streak (started 7-0 in 2015).

IN A PINCH: Skip Schumaker led Major League pinch hitters in apps (81), hits (19) and doubles (6, tied with Col's Rafael Ynoa)...fell 1 shy of Jacob Cruz’ modern franchise record for pinch hits in a season (20, 2005)...his 19 pinch hits were the most by any player in a season since 2010, when NYM’s Chris Carter had 19 pinch hits and Mil’s Joe Inglett had 20...from 5/16-5/20 doubled in 3 straight pinch-hit apps, the first player in the Major Leagues to produce doubles in 3 straight pinch-hit apps since Mil’s Wes Helms did it from 5/16-6/5, 2005 and the first Reds batter to do it since Joe Oliver from 6/30-7/14, 1990.

EIGHT BALL: RHP Jason Marquis on 5/25 vs Col batted eighth, ahead of CF Billy Hamilton...a Reds pitcher batted in a spot other than ninth for the first time since 9/7/33 vs Brooklyn, when Red Lucas hit seventh in a 2-0 loss...from 5/25 through 8/18, the date Hamilton was first injured, pitchers batted eighth in the lineup in 56 of the Reds’ 72g in National League parks...as a unit, Reds pitchers led the team with 58 starts batting eighth in the order and 94 starts batting ninth.

FASTEST TO 500: In the 11-inning, 5-3 loss on 7/19 vs Cle, Aroldis Chapman reached 500 career strikeouts in 292.0 innings, the fastest to 500 K by innings pitched in Major League history...his 500th victim was Giovanny Urshela...Chapman broke the record established earlier this season by SD’s Craig Kimbrel, who reached the 500 mark in his 305th inning on 5/25 at LAA.

RIGHT SIDE: 1B Joey Votto & 2B Brandon Phillips have made 973 starts together, the most on the right side of the infield for any tandem in Reds history and the highest total by any active set of infielders...Phi’s 1B Ryan Howard & 2B Chase Utley made 1,134 starts together until Utley was traded to the Dodgers on 8/19/15...1B Frank McCormick & 2B Lonny Frey rank second in Reds history with 774 starts together.

RUNNIN’ REDLEGS: The Reds led the Major Leagues with 134 stolen bases, including a season-high 6 steals on 6/29 vs Twins...began the year 17-for-17 in stolen base attempts, a franchise record to begin a season (since 1951)...that streak was snapped on 4/23 at Mil, when Billy Hamilton was thrown out at 2B by RHP Kyle Lohse and C Martin Maldonado...the last Major League team to begin a season with at least 17 consecutive successful stolen base attempts was the 2007 Twins club that began 19-for-19...Cin became the first team in the era in which caught stealing information has been recorded (since 1951) to steal 29 bases in its first 30 tries...courtesy Elias Sports Bureau.

RUN, BILLY, RUN: With 57 stolen bases, injured CF Billy Hamilton led the Major Leagues until Mia's Dee Gordon swiped his 58th in the second-to-last game of the season...Hamilton, who didn't play in the Reds' last 17g of the season, was trying to become the fourth Reds player to lead the National League in stolen bases, the first since Bobby Tolan had 57 steals in 1970 (also, Bob Bescher & Lonny Frey)...in the 11-inning, 2-1 loss on 6/14 at Chi tied the club record with 5 stolen bases (Ryan Freel, 7/27/05 at LAD)...his fifth steal was the 100th of his career in his 219th appearance, the fastest to that mark since Vince Coleman swiped his 100th career base in his 135th career game in 1985...Hamilton has 3 career apps with at least 4 stolen bases (9/8/13 at Hou, 6/29/15 vs Min), joining Ichiro Suzuki (Sea 2, NYY 1) as the only active Major Leaguers with as many as 3 career apps with at least 4 steals...in June, Hamilton became the first player with a pair of 4-steal games in a calendar month since May 2005 (NYY’s Tony Womack, WSox’ Scott Podsednik)...Hamilton's 44 stolen bases before the All-Star break were the most ever by a Reds player.

PITCH, HIT & RUN: In the fifth inning of the 10-2 loss on 5/15 vs SF, RHP Michael Lorenzen grounded out as a pinch hitter and then pitched the sixth and seventh innings...excluding non-pitchers, he became the first player to pinch hit and pitch in the same game since SF’s David Huff on 5/26/14 vs Cubs and the first Red to do it since Micah Owings on 6/15/2010 vs LAD.

CROOKED NUMBERS: In the 16-10 win on 4/21 at Mil the Reds produced their highest run total since 6/22/07 at Sea (16-1 win) and 2 grand slams in a game (Jay Bruce, Todd Frazier) for just the fourth time in franchise history (last, 8/21/1999 vs Mtl, Aaron Boone & Eddie Taubensee)...was the highest-scoring game ever between the Reds and Brewers...the Reds homered in 5 consecutive innings (3-7) for the first time since 9/19/08, also vs the Brewers (innings 3-7).

GRAND SLAMMING: The Reds’ 16-10 win on 4/21 at Mil was only the fourth game in Major League history that featured 3 grand slams...Jay Bruce and Todd Frazier hit slams for the Reds and Elian Herrera for the Brewers...the other 3 games featured the Yankees (3) & Athletics on 8/25/11, the Rangers (1) & Orioles (2) on 8/6/1986 and the Astros (1) & Cubs (2) on 6/3/1987 that included a grand slam by Hou’s Billy Hatcher off Chi’s Rick Sutcliffe...there never has been a big league game featuring 4 grand slams...in that 16-10 win at Mil, the Reds hit 2 grand slams in a game for the fourth time in franchise history, including 8/21/1999 vs Mtl (Aaron Boone, Eddie Taubensee), 4/24/1993 at Cubs (Chris Sabo, Joe Oliver) and 7/29/1955 vs Pit (Smoky Burgess, Bob Thurman).

ON THE CLOCK: In their 5-0 loss to Cole Hamels and the Phillies on 7/25 at Wrigley Field the Cubs were no-hit for the first time since Sandy Koufax’ perfect game on 9/9/65, snapping Chi’s streak of 7,920 games with at least 1 hit...was the longest streak of consecutive regular season games without being the victim of a no-hitter for any team in modern Major League history...the longest active regular season streak now belongs to the Redlegs, who have gone 7,094 games since Phi’s Rick Wise threw a no-hitter in a 4-0 win on 6/23/71 at Riverfront Stadium...Roy Halladay did throw a no-hitter in a 4-0 win vs Cin at Phi’s Citizens Bank Park in Game 1 of the 2010 National League Division Series.

Vs AMERICAN LEAGUE: This season the Reds went 7-13 vs American League teams (5-5 at home, 2-8 on the road, 1-2 at WSox, 0-2 at KC, 0-3 at Cle, 1-1 at Det, 2-0 vs Det, 2-1 vs Min, 1-2 vs Cle, 0-2 vs KC)...their 2015 interleague schedule included home series vs the Tigers (2-0), Twins (2-1), Indians (1-2) and Royals (0-2) and road series at White Sox (1-2), Royals (0-2), Indians (0-3) and Tigers (1-1)...all-time vs the AL the Reds are 128-167...interleague info is on media guide Page 316.

RAIN DROPS: The Reds’ 24 rain delays totaled 32 hours, 56 minutes and led to 5 postponements (4/25 vs Cubs, 5/8 at WSox, 6/18 vs Det, 7/8 at Wsh, 9/4 vs Mil) and 2 suspended games (6/27 at NYM, 9/11 vs StL)...the 26 hours, 57 minutes in 18 weather delays at GABP was the highest total at home since the Reds started tracking weather delays in 1978.

DOT, DOT, DOT...: The Reds played 25 of their first 29g vs NL Central opponents and 20 of their first 32g on the road...the home run by Pit’s Pedro Alvarez off Anthony DeSclafani on 4/9 was the 2,500th homer at Great American Ball Park...beginning 8/18, the Reds finished the season with 46 games in 48 days and beginning 9/18 finished with 17g without an off day...when John Lamb and David Holmberg pitched on 8/14 and 8/15 at LAD, lefthanded pitchers started consecutive games for the Reds for the first time since Travis Wood and Dontrelle Willis did it on 9/24 & 9/25, 2011 at Pit’s PNC Park.
