We were happy to celebrate National Ice Cream Sand-

wich Day on August 2.

August 4 was Louis Armstrong’s Birthday. We listened

to some of his great music, learned a bit about this jazz

legend, and reminisced about old times.

We enjoyed indulging in a special treat on National Root

Beer Float Day, August 6. Then, on August 8, National

Zucchini Day, the Elders helped make some delicious

zucchini bread and zucchini cake. Yum!

Our annual trip to the Napa Town and Country Fair was

on August 9. We had a great time enjoying all of the deli-

cious food and wonderful exhibits!

Franz Liszt received so many requests for locks of his

hair that he bought a dog and sent fur clippings instead.

Domenico Scarlatti composed his 'cat fugue' after his

cat, Pulcinella, walked across his keyboard.

The Japanese word 'karaoke' comes from a phrase

meaning 'empty orchestra'.

sus was kidnapped many times as a boy because of his

beautiful singing voice.

The most expensive opera costume of all time was worn

by Adelina Patti at Covent Garden in 1895. It was worth

£15 million.

Piner’s customers love Lisa. In fact, a customer recently

called Starr Piner, the owner, and recommended Lisa for

Employee of the Month because of how thorough and

helpful she had been to them.

Lisa loves her job and says: “I just try to do it to the best

of my ability.” She enjoys working with people, and likes

being able to help them when they are often at a very

difficult time in their lives.

When Lisa isn’t working, she enjoys going to the gym,

swimming, camping, and going to see live music. She

grew up in Napa with her parents, Sherrie and Jack, and

four sisters. .

Thank you for everything you do for Piner’s Medical

Supply and for the community, Lisa. We feel very

blessed and honored to have you as a coworker.

Congratulations on your award!

Lisa Dubois has been a

delivery driver and tech-

nician for Piner’s Medi-

cal Supply for seven

years. Throughout those

years, Lisa has consis-

tently been a great team

player. She is always

willing to help and is

appreciated by her co-

workers. Lisa can always

be counted on to be

there and get the job

done. She has a talent for

prioritizing her work so

that the most important

tasks are always com-

pleted on time.

August 18 was Hawaii Admission Day, so we celebrated

with an Aloha Friday: music, fruit, virgin mai tais and

pina colada cake.

We had so much fun on Eclipse Day, August 21. Jennifer

made us some cereal box eclipse viewers and we also

live-streamed the event on C-Span. For snacks, we had

Sun Chips, “moon” cheese,

and white chocolate ding

dongs.

We stuffed ourselves with

ice cream on Banana Split

Day, August 25.
