Bring ‘Em Back is a program dedicated to ensuring
safety within our communities by providing a safe
place for offenders to relinquish their handguns upon
court order.
This community-based program is comprised of law
enforcement, criminal courts and local churches. It is
designed to incentivize offenders to surrender their
weapon by providing a reduction of court costs, fines
and/or community service in exchange for their
weapon.
Please check with the court in which your case is filed
to determine your eligibility.
HOW DO I PARTICIPATE?
1. Tell your attorney that you have a
handgun and wish to participate in the
Bring ‘Em Back program.
2. Your attorney will receive a form from the
court coordinator which allows you to
participate in the program.
3. Choose a drop-off location from the
court- approved list and notify your
attorney before leaving court.
4. Call the chosen location and schedule a
drop-off time within 24-48hrs from the
sentencing of your plea.
5. Prior to arriving at the drop-off location,
EMPTY YOUR GUN AND REMOVE
MAGAZINE from the weapon. Place
weapon and magazine inside the trunk of
the vehicle.
6. Go to the designated location and leave
weapon/magazine inside the trunk of the
car.
7. Take your identification to the front desk
along with your court form.
8. Upon verifying your identification, the
receiving agency will escort you to your
car, retrieve your weapon and sign your
receipt.
ABOUT
IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS
You must turn in your weapon within 24-48hrs
from the sentencing of your plea.
For your safety, do not take firearms into the
location. LEAVE WEAPON IN THE TRUNK OF THE
CAR.
You will not get credit if you do not choose a
location on the approved list.
Your I.D. will be used for Identification purposes
only. You will not be checked for warrants.
You will not be provided with any form of
payment for your weapon nor will it be returned.
YOUR WEAPON WILL BE DESTROYED
YOU MAY NOT TAKE PUBLIC TRANSPORATION
TO ANY DROP-OFF LOCATIONS
CHILDREN ARE NOT ALLOWED AT ANY OF THE DROP
OFF LOCATIONS
