Graffiti is not only a part of “hip-hop culture” it also has to deal with mathematics. Artists typically use geometric designs when making their art. Graffiti art has evolved from many different styles over the years. From Urban styled graffiti in the late 1960’s to the style we typically see today.

Tutorial & MathThe grid usually made when artists first sketch their design are very similar to the Cartesian Coordinate System in math. When using the Graffiti Grapher Software, we have to use the Cartesian coordinates begin and end the lines, and how far left or right we will go using the X coordinate. This system uses negative and positive numbers.
