Introduction

My Client is Koshka that consist of 4 people in the band. The problem is that they want to

become more famous and they’re in need of help. So what i’m going to do is promote them by setting up adverts on youtube and make a

homepage site for them. The advert will be eye-catching and it should draw people’s attention.

Aoi: Area of interactions

This project relates to human ingenuity because my client is in need of something that

includes a lot of creativity in it. I will take surveys from different people in what’s an eye

catching advertisement supposed to look like, I will interview my client to see what will

satisfy them and research some advertisement of what I think is eye catching from my

point of view, and use my own knowledge into investigate, design, plan and create this

advert and evaluate it with my client.

Page 6: Grade Nine Band Promotion

Client interviewHow would you like you video to be like?I’d like it if the video is eye catching and that it lures people in to watch it, and that it won’t make us look “pathetic”. Also don’t make it look so sparkly with flashy stuff because most music videos would have those, it’ll be nice if you could actually make the advert unique and different so people would think we’re walking in our own path instead being stuck with a group of the same old artists.

Do you have and work in progress song you want the viewers to sneak a peek in?Well at the moment we are working on our new single, but I don’t think that we should because that’ll just give out ideas to those other producers out there. You could just put in one of our song that you think other will be impressed in and that they’ll think that makes them think that we’re so “awesome”. Plus don’t put in the whole song, just put some of them and it’ll make the people want more and it means they’ll have to buy our album?

What do you not want inside the video?I certainly don’t want any videos that’ll cause bad rumours about us. I don’t want videos that make us look like we can’t sing and that makes us look like we’re someone who just came out of a garbage can, I mean who would want someone to look like that but can’t sing? For sure, don’t make us look like wannabes too, but if you’re going to do something like that, then make it look like we’re just joking. Now who would hate a humorous singer now?

Is there anything you would like me to add in?No not really anything that I could think of though..But if you do have something in your mind that you think you should add in, then go ahead.

Client Interview Summary

Well my client doesn’t want to look bad in their advert and that they would like to see people being caught in their own advertisement. They

don’t want people to judge them by their first appearance as if they don’t look like the singing type. They want an advert that makes them

look like they’re going to look like they’re the next big thing that’ll wow everyone in every different way that they do and that they want the

viewers that it’s worth it to hear them sing. I believe the client prefers things that’s sort of simple and casual that’s completely different from the other type of singers/band group adverts in t.v, radios and all sorts

of those things.

Case Study Summary

While searching for three different type of promotions for bands, my main focus was how it’ll drag the

viewers attention to them. The billboard won’t work since there’s drivers who wouldn’t want to risk their

lives looking at it and end up in a car crash, the website is effective but some people who have no access to the

internet and same goes to the video advert.

Materials

It’s a must to have a movie editor software, I’m going to use iMovie because it’s not complicated, easy and simple to use for everyone.

We will need to use a camera to take

pictures to support the band promotion and to give out more “interesting” shots.

Design Cycle

Page 13: Grade Nine Band Promotion

Design OnePro’s:- Eye-Catching- Interesting to look at- Simple and there’s not a lot of words to look at.

Con’s:- Doesn’t show a lot of information about the band.- Limited amount of information and doesn’t show where it is going to be in exactly.

This billboard advertisement doesn’t show a lot of information for band and it’s not specific to where the performance should be at. If I were the client seeing this, I wouldn’t be that pleased to have this lying around advertising my band.

Wednesday, 2 November 2011

Page 14: Grade Nine Band Promotion

Design TwoPro’s:

- It sort of follows the other bands advertisements. (Since the client wanted it to be unique.)- I don’t find it advertising the band, (sort of.)

Con’s:

- It advertises the band.- It doesn’t bore the viewers.- Includes background about the band. (Good Point of View)

I sort of like this design a bit since it shows who they area and it shows the history of the band how much they’re trying to achieve their goal. Most of the people are watching the internet than t.v nowadays so this would most likely grab their attention when they see this add on youtube.com or somewhere else.

Page 15: Grade Nine Band Promotion

Design ThreePro’s:- It’s Eye-Catching- It’s unique. (As the client wanted it.)- It advertises the band.- Exact information on where they’re going to perform on.Con’s:- Too many wasted white space.- Too Expensive.- Sort of hard to make since therewould be a lot of materials needed.

I’m sure that this design will attract the pedestrians that are walking past by this and passengers in vehicles since it have this unique cut out that makes the billboard a little

bit pop out or “3D”. The problem is that the writing is a little bit too much and that people might not have enough time to read it like in cars.

Wednesday, 2 November 2011

Page 16: Grade Nine Band Promotion

Design FourPros:- It mostly shows their background- People will like this more than reading a poster.

Cons:- It’s a little too boring when there’s too many dialogues.

I find this design sort of mediocre and that it would need some improvements to get most of the dialogues out so it

wouldn’t bore the viewers.

Wednesday, 2 November 2011

Page 17: Grade Nine Band Promotion

Design FivePros:- Pleasing to the eyes- Simple- Sort of easy to completeCons:- Colours are really limited in the site.

I like this design when it mostly follows the client’s description in what they want inside their presentation. It’s

simple and easy to use, I’m sure that visitors won’t have any trouble navigating through the website.

Design Six

Pros:- Attractive and sort of unique- Easy to navigate through.

Cons:- It’s for girls only.

I like this design when it mostly follows the client’s description in what they want inside their presentation. I think that this website would only be for girls due to the

layout style.

Peer-to-Peer Assesment

I really like Design 4, I believe this design of the website is very simple and I really like the colours you picked. I like the slogan in

the front page and I also like the illustration in the the side. The website includes a variety of information about the band and

media such as music and images. The website is easy to be browsed because i think the website is very well organised. I think

some of the improvements could be to add more decorations to the website to make it more attractive and unique. But overall I think this is the best design from all because my band and our

music will be able to be promoted through this website.

Day One

Today I looked at the website and started to make the template and Pictures it. The problem is that I have to create the character that would take a long time for me to

complete

Wednesday, 2 November 2011

Page 25: Grade Nine Band Promotion

Day 2

Just finished making the information page template and that I just need to add the information into the template, I think that the page is still a little bit too empty so I

think that I should add picture into the template.

Day 3

Text

In day three, I had a problem with all of the pages since it kept on showing up the word “photo” everywhere, But then I finally resolved the problem. Now I’m making the

gallery still trying to insert photos and videos.

Wednesday, 2 November 2011

Page 27: Grade Nine Band Promotion

Day 4

I just finished making the template for the gallery and now I would just need in insert pictures and background music and the video in order to make it more

“satisfying.” The problem is that I’m afraid that I don’t get enough pictures to put it in the gallery.

Day 5

I’ve Made an update to the visitors to see where are they going to perform in and when’s their next concert. It’ll help advertise them to fans who really want to see

them so badly.

Wednesday, 2 November 2011

Page 29: Grade Nine Band Promotion

Day 6

I’ve made a keep in touch page so fans can write letters to them through e-mail, and prehaps could make a suggestion or a cover they want the band to sing. It’s free and they

don’t have to pay a cent.
