The geographical situation and the excellent communications, both with the rest of Spain and with the
South of France, make Aragon a strategic site for the location of manufacturing plants as well as
distribution centers.

VERY LOW POPULATION DENSITY
The population density is very low: 26.8 hab / km².
Lower than Spanish average: 88.4 hab / km², and
that of Europe average: 116 hab / km².
By provinces:
Teruel, with 9.6 hab / km², is the minimum
provincial density in Spain.
Followed by Huesca with 13.9 hab / km².
At Aragón are 731 municipalities, but only 14
exceed 10,000 inhabitants, (1,9%)
Rural municipalities:
669 municipalities (91.5%) have less than 2,000
inhabitants. They have little or no commercial
establishments.

ARAGON SARURE PROJECT’S OBJECTIVES
The objectives which Aragon expects to achieve with SARURE Project are the following:
a) Provide a basic commercial distribution network for the rural territory.
b) Recognise the social role played by trade in rural areas.
c) Increase the relationship of commercial activity with other complementary economic and social activities.
