ATTORNEY PATRICIA NELSON-READE, has been practicing law in Maine for over 25 years. The Nelson-Reade Law Office PC was established in 1994. Attorney Nelson-Reade graduated summa cum laude, with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of North Florida. She worked as a registered nurse for seven years before attending law school. Ms. Nelson-Reade graduated first in her class from the University of Maine School of Law in 1988, where she was editor-in-chief of the Maine Law Review. She is past co-chair of the Elder Law Section of the Maine Bar Association and is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Maine Estate Planning Council, and of the Special Needs Alliance. Attorney Nelson-Reade is one of the first attorneys in Maine to become a Certified Elder Law Attorney (CELA). To become a certified elder law attorney, the attorney needs to have extensive experience in elder law, should be recommendations by her peers, and pass a comprehensive exam. Ms. Nelson-Reade was selected by her peers for inclusion in “The Best Lawyers in America” for the past 10 years. She speaks regularly on elder law, estate planning and special needs planning, before the public, attorneys, accountants and other professionals. Ms. Nelson-Reade has also published articles on elder law and special needs planning.

JENNIFER L. FRANK, practices with the Nelson-Reade Law Office in Portland, Maine, where she focuses her practice on elder law, estate planning, and special needs planning. Prior to joining the firm in 2008, she was the managing attorney for a mass tort litigation firm where she practiced for 15 years. Ms. Frank received her Bachelor of Science degree from Boston University and her Juris Doctor from Golden Gate University School of Law. Ms. Frank is a member of the Elder Law Section of the Maine Bar Association and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. She serves on the continuing legal education committee for the Maine Bar Association and is a planning committee member for the Elder Law and Estate Planning Institute – a two day seminar that occurs every five years. She speaks regularly in the community and for professional organizations regarding elder law and estate planning issues.

KATE GEOFFROY, dedicates her practice to elder law and estate planning, including guardianships, conservatorships, Medicaid planning, long term care planning and probate matters. Ms. Geoffroy has been practicing law in Maine for over 25 years. She joined the Nelson-Reade Law Office in 2003 and has qualified as a certified elder law attorney (CELA) by the National Elder Law Foundation. Attorney Geoffroy is one of only three CELAs in the state. She is a member of the Maine Bar Association, Elder Law Section, and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. Ms. Geoffroy holds a BS degree in Biology from Yale University and a JD, cum laude, from Boston College Law School, where she was an editor of the Boston College Law Review. After graduating from law school, she clerked for Chief Justice Vincent McKusick of the Maine Supreme Judicial Court. Prior to joining the Nelson-Reade Law Office, Attorney Geoffroy was with Pierce Atwood, the largest law firm in Maine, for 14 years. She speaks regularly on elder law issues at professional conferences and community events.
