Cathy L. Bissett, M.B.A., Psy.D., is a clinical psychologist in private practice in Casa Grande, Arizona, and is on staff at a local Behavioral Hospital.

In working with patients from age 3 to 92 with a broad range of presenting disorders, it became increasingly clear that the work she did with small children, were often equally applicable to adolescents and adults. She knows that play is an essential component in the healing process and that play therapy techniques can offer portals into the heart that bring change quickly and permanently. It is non-threatening but is effective as a mode of communication.

Cathy has been using play therapy to help her clients for over 15 years. Working on problems through therapeutic play, allows the patient to identify and access early problems, understand its impact in their current issues, and support and embrace change.

Much of Cathy’s in-session work is with children and victims of crime, of abuse, and trauma. She is a member of the Arizona Play Therapy Association. Speaker Disclosures: Financial: Cathy L. Bissett maintains a private practice. She has an advisory board relationship with Ebtide.org and SharingResources.org. She receives a speaking honorarium from PESI, Inc. Non-Financial: Cathy L. Bissett is a member of the Arizona Play Therapy Association.
