History

Google was founded by Larry Page and Sergey Brin, Ph.D both which were students at Stanford University in March of 1995

In 1996 Page and Brin started to collaborate on a search engine called Back Rub. Back rub had operated on Stanford servers for more than a year but it took up too much bandwith

The name Google was a play on the word “googol”, a mathematical term for the number 1 followed by 100 zeros, which was Page and Brin’s mission to organize a infinite amount of informatio on the web.

On September 15th Google.com is registered as a domain.

“It comes down to three elements: a mission that matters, transparency and voice.”

“is aspirational and meaningful. It’s not just about making a buck. That’s something that universally people need to connect to in almost any business.”

“Our belief is that if you have good people—and if you believe that people are fundamentally good—they’re going to make better decisions by being exposed to what is going on in the organization.“

“Our employees are not just here for the ride. Rather, they have an obligation to make their voices heard and help make this place great.”

Andrés Cardenal. (2013)

Page 22: Google

2. Growth potential ● The U.S. online advertising industry produced $49 billion in revenue during 2014,

and this figure is expected to grow to $83 billion by 2019● Investing in many aggressively innovative technologies such as self-driving cars,

outer space exploration, alternative energy sources, and breakthrough medical advancements, among several others

● When being considered as a diversified group of futuristic technologies, these projects offer far more upside potential than downside risk for investors in Google

Andrés Cardenal. (2013)

Page 23: Google

3. Attractive valuation ● Google can easily justify an above average valuation based on its rock-solid

leadership in online advertising, profitable business model, and exciting growth prospects
