Sending forth creative power . .
Soak it in!
Let it take root!
When is my heart most open
to hearing Jesus, the Word?
When I am quiet?
When someone says something
kind to me?
When someone challenges me
to do better?
When I see someone in need?
Do I allow myself to be
vulnerable enough to listen
and then act on it?
How do I use the Word
so that it does achieves the end
for which God sent it?

RIVERSIDE, OHIO July 16, 2017
INVITE A FRIEND TO JOIN THE
CATHOLIC COMMUNITY!
Have you had family or friends ask you about your Catho-lic faith? Or do you know someone who is seeking some-thing deeper in their lives? Invite them to explore the Cath-olic faith through the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA). People who are unbaptized or who have been baptized in another faith but wish to become Catholic are
invited to learn about the faith, encounter Jesus Christ and His love in prayer and liturgical worship, and lead a life of discipleship supported by the faith community.
“I have come that you may have life and have it to the full.” John 10:10.
If you or someone you know is interested contact Shaughn Phillips at [email protected] or at 254-6233 to learn more about being initiated into the church. Inquiry sessions about Catholicism begin August 22 at 7pm in the St. Julie Center.
COFFEE WITH SHAUGHN! Last week Shaughn Phillips, our newest parish
staff member, introduced himself at all the
masses. The new guy doesn’t know much about
our community yet so we are asking YOU to help
him out! Whether it is at the parish office or
Flightline Coffee, Shaughn wants
to learn about your experience at St. Helen.
Please feel free to call the parish office at
254-6233 or email Shaughn at [email protected]
to schedule a time to chat!

LAY CATHOLIC STUDIES:
50% TUITION
REDUCTION FOR 2017-2018 The Athenaeum of Ohio Lay
Pastoral Ministry Program is sponsored
by the Archdiocese of Cincinnati and
offers lay Catholics the opportunity to
grow in faith, knowledge and
skills. Since 1975, the LPMP has
equipped ordinary Catholics to accom-
plish extraordinary things in the name of
Christ. Weeknight and Saturday classes
allow participants to maintain job, fami-
ly, and community commitments while
answering a call to deeper disciple-
ship. Interviews are now underway for
fall classes meeting at Sacred Heart of
Jesus parish in McCartyville, Good
Shepherd parish in Montgomery, or the
main campus. Call Dr. Susan McGur-
gan at (513) 231-1200 or
email [email protected] for
information or to set up an interview.

ELIZABETH NEW LIFE CENTER Elizabeth’s New Life Center has an opening for a Development Office
(DO) for the Dayton area. The DO will work as a member of our develop-
ment team, seeking monetary and in-kind donations to support our ministry of
“saving babies and changing lives.” The DO will work part-time for approxi-
mately 24 hours per week with occasional nights and weekends for special
events. If you have great communication skills and the desire to network for
the benefit of our ministry, please visit our website at elizabethnewlife.org,
click on employment, and submit your resume and cover letter. We prefer a
bachelor’s degree in a related field and 1-3 years in fund development or sales
experience.
