Garth & Doris Black - prayers for son, Adam, 2nd surgery on 7/7 & granddaughter, Julia, who is in a lot of pain following her accident, in rehab hospital Jalyn Brown - prayers for friends, Shannon & Sarah, on a one year mission trip to China Stacy Hanna - friend of Ginger Malone, recovering from surgery from an aneurism in her brain and another aneurism in her brain that is being treated with medicine Mary Holland - back surgery on 7/14 at Loma Linda, prayers that she recovers quickly Frankie Lopez - 11 year old son of Frank & Diane, in need of a heart procedure in the next few weeks, hoping that it can be done non-invasively and successfully. Becoming a Christian...We believe that it is by grace that we are saved through our response of faith,

believing that Jesus is the Son of God, that He died to take the penalty of our sins on Himself, and that He was raised from the dead on the third day by the power of God. God calls people to believe in Jesus as their Savior, repent of sin in their life, make a confession of faith that Jesus is Lord and be joined to Christ and added to His church by being immersed (baptized) in His name. Having made this response of faith to God, all sin is forgiven and we receive the gift of God's Holy Spirit to live in us and to empower us to live for Jesus. All those who come to faith in Him may request immersion at any time.

Becoming a Member at Westside...All believers, who by faith in Jesus have been baptized through

immersion for forgiveness of sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit, may place their membership at Westside. You may express your desire to one of our elders or ministers, or mark the appropriate space on our visitor card. Members here are under the spiritual care of our shepherds and committed to service and full participation with the family of God at this congregation.

Responding...You may request immersion (baptism), re-commit your life, or seek prayers on your behalf

by going forward during the time of response or by contacting an elder, a minister, or any member of this congregation at any time.

NOTICE: To anyone who wishes to attend a small group on Sunday night, the "Sunday Evening Group" will still be meeting at 6:00pm in #515 throughout the summer. We have singing, prayer time, and usually a short devotional. Communion is always available as well. On the last Sunday of the month we have a pot luck meal in the WAC (#520) we call our "Hootenanny" which is always a fun time. All ages are invited. Women of Westside, it is time! Beginning next Sunday, July 19, you can purchase your tickets for Women of Faith Loved: The Farewell Tour! The dates are Sept 11-12 in Anaheim. The cost of your ticket, hotel room and lunch ticket will be a flat $100! This is a fabulous price! SHOWER

To the Westside Church of Christ family...Your generous contribution for three new water wells in Ethiopia was received and very much appreciated. Your love and compassion for thousands of men, women and children demonstrated through the providing of pure clean water means more than words can express. Contaminated rainwater collection ponds and small seasonal streams and springs are

usually the places people living in rural Ethiopia are forced to obtain water for their families. These sources are polluted with all kinds of diseases which are the number one cause of death among the people; especially the elderly and the very young. During the last four years more than 200 new congregations have been established as our preachers went to preach in the areas where new wells had been completed. The hearts of the people had been touched and made receptive to the saving power of the gospel message of Jesus because the love of people like yourselves provided this greatest of all physical gifts; pure clean water.

Our prayer for you is that you will continue to reach out to the lost in our world by demonstrating the love of Jesus to them as you have done through the gift of three new water wells. ~ John Ed Clark, elder Woodward Park Church of Christ
