    Special SCRIP Table Hours For This Week!

    Stop by and do your holiday shopping at the Scrip Table! It is the perfect gift for

    teachers, friends and family! Dont forget to pick-up some movie tickets for the

    holiday break as well! So please stop by and help yourself and the school!

    This week well be open each afternoon, and Friday mornings too!

    Last Chance For A 2009 Tax Deduction!

    Your tax-deductible, direct donation to the Garden Gate PTA is by far our most important source of

    funding. By donating to the Garden Gate PTA, you will help us to maintain our high quality of education

    here at school. Just drop off your donation noted Direct Donation to the office by Friday, December 18th

    and we will send you a receipt for your tax deductible donation!

    The Walk-A-Round

    The time has come to start the kick-off of the annual Walk-A-Round but we need a chairman! This

    critical event needs a Garden Gate Hero so please call if you have any interest or questions. I promise I wil

    not assume that you will accept the position as chairman just because you contact me! We can talk about

    what is involved and the support you will receive IF you accept the position of Chairperson! You will

    receive a great deal of support and also the adulation of all the children here at Garden Gate! Please call or

    SCHOOL SPIRIT DAY - PAJAMA DAYOur student council is sponsoring Pajama Day this Friday,December 18th. Students can come to school inappropriate attire such as long sleeve pajama tops andbottoms or sweats. They may also bring slippers to wearn the classroom if approved by their teacher, but they mustalso bring their shoes. We are looking for a comfortableand cozy day!

    UPDATING RESIDENCY INFORMATIONPlease be aware that district guidelines require that any

    change of residence must be reported to the school officewithin ten (10) days. This guideline is in place to ensurethat the address and contact information that the schoolhas on file is accurate. This information is crucial and isused to send official school/district correspondence and it isalso used in the case of an emergency. Failure to providecurrent residency information could result in the immediatewithdrawal of your child. If you have any questionsregarding this guideline, please contact the school office.

    LOST AND FOUNDNow that the weather is colder, it isimportant to have your child dress in layerswith a heavy sweater or jacket. Remember

    to include your childs name on all outsidewear and personal items. Our lost andfound cart (located at the rear of the school

    office building) is overflowing with clothing and otherpersonal student items. Please stop by and claim yourchilds lost articles. For smaller personal items such askeys, watches, jewelry, etc., please check in the front office.

    All items that are not claimed willbe donated to a localcharity.

    We will be selling Scrip outside the school office during thefollowing times:Wednesday, 12/16 - 7:15 - 7:45 a.m.; 2:00 - 2:40 p.m.Thursday, 12/17 - 2:00 - 2:40 p.m.Friday, 12/18 - 7:15 - 7:45 a.m.; 2:00 - 2:40 p.m.

    CALLING IN STUDENT ABSENCESWhen calling in your childs absence, please be specific asto the reason for the absence, i.e.: My child (name), has afever due to cold, sore throat, cough or flu with 100.0 ormore temperature. Your child may return to school whenhe/she is fever free, without medication or the aid of a feverreducer for at least 24 hours. When returning to school,the student must check in with the office to be assessedand cleared of a fever before returning to class. Please donot give your child a fever reducer and send them toschool. It is necessary to keep them home in order not toexpose their illness to other students in the class.

    REMINDER; PLEASE DO NOT PLAY ON THESCHOOL PLAYGROUND BEFORE OR AFTERSCHOOL.We are seeing more students playing on the playgroundbefore and after school. Please remember that studentsare not permitted to play at these times since there is noadult supervision. Students are not to be on schoolgrounds before 7:45 a.m. Also, they should leaveimmediately after school. Thank you for yoursupport in this matter.

    he John F. Kennedy University Community Counseling Center invites interested parents to join a 10 week course with otherepfamily couples. You will learn the typical developmental stages that many stepfamilies go through in order to become aore harmonious and cohesive family.
