The Gatley team are continuing to work hard to reduce the number of reports we
are receiving in relation to drugs. We have increased patrols in the most affected
areas and urge anyone to report anything that appears suspicious.
We have received a number of complaints/concerns regarding school parking at
Lumhead and Gatley Primary school. As a result of this we have increased patrols
during peak times and issued a number of fixed penalty notices.
Greater Manchester Police exists to protect society and help
keep people safe.
To achieve this purpose we are committed to:
Continuing to drive down Crime and Anti-Social Behaviour
Keeping People Safe
Delivering a good service
We have received an increase in burglaries and theft from vehicles in the
Gatley area. The Gatley team are working hard to reduce these and will be
patrolling your area to deter criminal activity and keep you safe. We also
need your help-
Remove all valuables when you leave your vehicle especially your sat
Use a steering wheel lock, immobiliser, alarm or tracking device.
Always keep your vehicle locked, even if you leave it for a few seconds
Are also mindful that there is likely to be an increased police presence
in certain areas of Gatley, but not to be alarmed by this.
Make sure you shut and securely lock all windows and doors when the
house is empty, even if you pop out for a few seconds.
Wheelie bins are sometimes used as a climbing aid or as a means of
transporting stolen property. Secure them if you can an ensure that they
are stored away from windows and doors.
Home Watch- An effective way to reduce burglary is to work with your
neighbours and set up a Home Watch Scheme. To find out more please
contact your Neighbourhood Policing Team.
