I am a seasoned retail leader, with a vast experience of retail operations and leadership positions.I am known for my passion for retail, coming up with creative ideas to move more product, and recognizing employee accomplishments.I have multiple years experience with several companies, and several industries. I am study and educate myself on retail continually, to stay up to date of the latest best practices. This gives me a broader picture of retail, enabling me to be a more effective leader. I thrive in an environment where I am responsible with my team to make sure sales and profits exceed expectations. I accept comments on my performance with appreciation and am an avid learner, reading 12-15 books a year on self-help and business. Last 5 books I have read: Taking People with you, 25 ways to win with people, Giving 2.0, Invaluable, Secrets of Great Rainmakers.

I create retail business growth including sales and profits, by working with all levels of the business to drive top and bottom line results.

When I plan, I am planning for not just the now, I plan for the future. Using effective delegating skills, and planning out my workdays, I am able to accomplish more than those that do not.

I have retail vision for where I like to see stores go-I look beyond where they are currently and, and what I feel they can become. I get my teams motivated by using positive reinforcement, rewards and recognition. And of course, positive coaching when needed.

I believe that we can all learn from each other-no one has the rein on information. I share everything I can with the teams I work with, most recently using a daily communication log to update them

I don’t ask anyone to do anything that I would not do. Respect for people is as important as anything in business. When I coach anyone I ensure they still have their dignity. I have 30+ years in retail management including multi-store.

Without strong people, the business will not survive. When I recruit, I am looking for the future leaders of the business.

I tailor my conversations to the person I am dealing with. I look at their body language, listen to their words, and adjust as needed to effectively communicate with them.

By using consultative skills, and talking to the customer, I am able to determine what they need, and help them buy it. I prefer to sell customers what they actually need, not necessarily what they are looking for.

I thrive on learning. And creativity is one of my areas of excellence.

Because I enjoy what I do, others see that, and it can become contagious. I have a love and a passion for retail. Others that are near me cannot help but get excited along with me.

Is dedicated to supporting a safe working and shopping environment.

Is committed to working shifts as scheduled and has flexibility to work additional hours and/or different hours based on changing needs of the business – including additional training and store meetings

Safety is job one-More important than anything else in any business. I strive to ensure safe working environments, and when I see something that is not safe, IMMEDIATE action gets taken.

After having worked 7 days a week, 8-12 hours a day for three months(I did take a total of 3 days off), and having managed a district of 3 Spirit Halloween stores working 7 days a week 10-14 hours a day, there is not really any retail job I am not up to.
