JULY EVENTS/ACTIVITIES Dr. Suk’s Memorial Ceremony On July 17, 2013, Dr. Malinee Pookayaporn, the licensee of the establishment of Sripatum University, presided over the Memorial Day Ceremony of Dr. Suk Pookayaporn, SPU Founder. A number of participants including SPU Execu- tives, faculty & staff, students, as well as participants from public and private sectors also attended the ceremony, held at The 40th Year Of Sripatum University Bldg. SPU Sripatum University takes a leaf out of Star Cruises’ success Led by Dr. Monticha Khruasuwan - Dean of School of Liberal Arts, the delegation from Sripatum University found the ship tour arranged by Star Cruises immensely constructive, giving them the opportunity to gain insights into the cruise industry and hospitality as the university will roll out new academic programmes on Cruise Services and Management for the next academic year. Workshop on PBL Teaching Method for 21st Century Classroom On 27 and 28 June 2013, the Workshop on PBL Teaching Method was organized by Teaching and Learning Support and Development Center - Sripatum University in collaboration with the Consortium for Global Education in USA to provide the opportunity for all participants from several universities in Thailand to develop teaching skills & tech- niques especially PBL-Problem Based Learning which is considered as the most effective teaching method for 21st century. The program started with formal welcome and opening remark by Aj. Chinda Tejavanija Chang, Assistant to the President - International Affairs, followed by the lecture given by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Delta Cavner from the Consor- tium for Global Education at Pattama Room, 4th. floor, Building #1, Sripatum University. Thai-US Relations Aj. Chinda Tejavanija Chang, Assistant to the President - International Affairs and Dr.Kamon Jirapong, Dean of the School of Digital Media attended the event to celebrate 180 years US- Thai Relations “Two Nations One Friendship”, held on July 3, 2013 at Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok Hotel. Thai - China Relations Aj.
