Bringing the Call for South African Evangelismto the people of America

Dear brethren. It is never easy to make a new adjust

ment in life, but it is something which we have hadto do. Because of Nancy's back condition we must facethe fact that v© will not be able to return to Africain the foreseeable future. Even after the operationsit would be most impractical to plan a trip half-wayaround the world.

This does not mean that we have forgotten South Africa. Africa is my own, my native land, and I realize deeply their desperate need for Christ. What then can I do?' Through Christian Service Camps, ;•Revivals, Missionary Meetings, Youth Rallies and othermeans of instruction I have determined to bring beforethe American people the need for Evangelism in theRepublic of South Africa all the while preparingmyself through studies to teach in a Bible College andhelp to train young men who will enter into theselabors.

The need right now in South Africa isfor CITY EVANGELISM. Once we have strong whitechurches in the City Centres of South Africa, thesewill be able to reach out to the African locationsand reserves in their surrounding area. The citychurches will be able to buy plots and erect churchbuildings as well as evangelize and direct the preaching of the gospel among the Africans in their area. These sites and buildings will be maintained, and theteaching and leadership of the African work will continue through the city chaix*ch©s even after the missionaries have left.

This August ray brother John plans to return to South Africa to carry on the work which weleft in Cape Town. He will be working with BrothersZimmerman and Thomas in developing the city churchesin the Cape Town area. We need churches in othercity centers too. Would you be willing to go to amodern South African city, and establish a strongchurch for Jesus Christ our Lord? All you have to dois decide; then step out in faith to lay your desirebefore our churches and ask'for their support in thisventure. The need is great, and the time is short,

Nancy's back condition is worse than weat first supposed. She will probably need two operations, including a bone graft. In addition our babydaughter Sandra has been in the hospital with asthma, pneumonia and pneumj-nitis • She was put in an oxygentent, and it has now been discovered that she hastuberculosis. Please pray for them. Our immediateneed is for medical expenses, and any help which youcan give will be greatly appreciated.

In September I plan to resume my studiesat either a College or University. Until then. Lordwilling, I shall be speaking at churches and ChristiaaService camps. I still have JTine 1.6—22, and June 29-July 3 free. From September I'll be available onweek-ends. . . a.

Yours in Christ,OT.f, J ' F'-FT
