Prior to the celebration, children madeChinese New Year decorations such aslanterns and fish crafts. They exchangedgreetings with their teachers as theyreceived the oranges and red packets.

Children also tasted various traditional goodies such as Love Letters, Pineapple tarts and Chinese Pomelo.

During Chinese New Year celebration, children put on traditional costumes, sang along to Chinese New Year songs and watched amazing performances by the primary school as

well as our K2 children from the morning session classes!

In Term 1, parents are invited to find out more about the curriculum and how wenurture our children holistically. It was an informative session for both our parentsand teachers as they got to know more about the children and how parents andteachers can work together to support our children’s development.

We had our first Parent Support Group Briefing forparents who signed up to be parent volunteers withthe school. It was heartwarming to see the positiveresponses from the parents and we hope to build astrong partnership with our families.

OutVentures provide opportunities for our children to be engaged in fun outdoorlearning adventures. This term, children explored ideas and used their creativity inbuilding sturdy sandcastles through sand play. A lot of teamwork, effort andconfidence were seen in our children!

In lieu with Total DefenceDay 2019, the SingaporePolice Force was invitedfor a Show-and-Tell sessionand to share about howchildren can keepthemselves safe. Apartfrom learning about thedifferent types of policeofficers and theirequipment, children alsohad the opportunity toboard the police vehicle -the Petra car!

Molly visited MK@Frontier for our children to experience

reading and borrowing books in a mobile library!

K1 Updates

Children experienced using a target structure to speak in proper sentence. For example, Something is on my back. It is a spider. They were also introduced to some vocabulary words such as it, my, shower, spider.

Children explored bending their bodies to form triangle. They also named and labelled the body parts that can bend too. Thereafter, the children

went for a triangle hunt around the school environment!

Our first K1 field trip took place in the month of March. The children went to the National Gallery Singapore and turned into little architects! They

observed the many different shapes architects used to design the building and illustrated it down!

幼一的小朋友用筷子、剪刀、绒线和不同颜色的彩色纸,一起准备“捞鱼生”所需要的材料,并通过“捞鱼生”的活动,一边捞,一边说吉祥的话语,对农历新年的习俗有初步地了解。

要过年啦!幼一的小朋友们一起用废旧纸板、蛋糕纸杯、蜡笔和活动眼睛,涂涂彩彩,粘粘帖帖,做新年鱼来装饰幼稚园。

Dalam Penggal 1, kanak-kanak mempelajari tentang anggota badan mereka dan juga cara-cara menjaga danmembersihkan anggota badan mereka.

K2 Updates

Children were introduced to the different prepositional words (in front of, at the bottom, on top and beside). In groups, they went around the class to seek for the toy animals that

were hidden. After which, they shared with their friends where they found the animals.

They were also introduced to the sentence structure “I can/can’t (verb).” Following which, they played a game and shared about the things that they can do or can’t do before drawing it out.

Children were introduced to beginning sounds - /br/, /ch/ and ending sound - /er/, and jumped when they heard the words that begins and ends with the said sound.

Together as a class, they alsolistened to the teacher’sdescriptions, guessed theobject and drew it on theactivity sheet based on theposition given to them.

After learning about the Healthy Plate and how they can make healthier choices of food, the K2 children visited the Jacob Ballas

Children’s Garden and went on a tour titled “Sara Goes to the Supermarket”. Over there, children were introduced to various fruits

and vegetables that can be commonly found in Singapore’s supermarket. Now we know how the healthy foods grow!

小朋友们用蔬菜榨汁做颜料;动手蒸香甜的芒果糯米饭,快乐地探索蔬菜与米饭的奥秘。

幼二的小朋友进行奥秘探索—“警察”。他们访问警察叔叔,了解警察的工作和使用的工具。幼儿也做了一张感谢卡送给警察叔叔,表达对警察叔叔的敬爱。

又到了快乐的学习区活动时间,幼二小朋友们变身成医生、巴士车长、消防员进行情景对话。

幼二的小朋友在进行玩玩乐——设计“我的棋盘”。小朋友利用美工材料,两人一组,合作设计出他们喜欢的棋盘游戏。
