From the Rector Very Rev. Joseph Tizio, C.Ss.R. Staffed by The Redemptorists I want to begin this week by congratulating Fr. Pierre and our Hai- tian community on the first anniversary of their weekly Saturday evening liturgy. Over the past year, Fr. Pierre has worked hard in his ministry to our Haitian community and it has been wonder- ful to watch our Haitian community grow to become more active members of our parish. We have and will continue to be enriched with the beauty of the Haitian culture and their deep devotion to our faith. One of the beautiful aspects of our parish is its diversity and how people from so many different cultures feel loved and welcome. We are the Body of Christ, while we are each unique, we still form just one Body! Also, this Tuesday is the Feast of All Saints and on the following day we celebrate All Souls Day. Every year I look forward to these two feast days because they celebrate our belief in the Communion of Saints. The Church does not just live here on earth but en- dures through eternity, the effects of our baptism do not end when we die but continue through all eternity. We will never cease being members of the Church. On all Saints Day, we celebrate our ancestors who have achieved the ultimate reward and now form what we call “The Church Triumphant”. They now share eternal life with Christ. They also intercede for us and give us their friendship and intercession. On All Souls Day, we remember our beloved deceased and are joined to them through prayer. Death does not break the bonds of love that unite us in life. Our prayers carry them into the glory of God. Both of these celebrations remind us that the Basilica did not just magically appear, it was built by the love and sacrifices of those who have gone before us. We celebrate them and thank them for all they have handed on to us. MASS INTENTIONS FROM THE RECTOR

Second Collection Next WeekendNext week’s second collection is for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD), which works to uphold the dignity of human life by breaking the cycle of poverty across the United States through grants to local community-based groups who create jobs, improve education, and strengthen neighborhoods. Twenty-five percent of the CCHD collection stays in the Archdi-ocese of Boston to fund local anti-poverty projects; seventy-five percent supports national grant and education programs. For more information, please visit www.usccb.org/cchd.

The Mass concluded with our entire school community standing in a circle, representing our love and care for one another.

Mission Grammar and Harvard Medical School teamed up to launch a tutoring program for our 5th and 6th graders preparing them for the Independent School Exam and high school admissions process.
