From the Principal’s Desk
A New Perspective to the world of education is what our school is all about. The
world today is standing at the threshold of a revolution – in economy, ethics and
edification. There is an increasing emphasis on attainment of distinction in all
spheres by providing broad-based access to quality education. We at S D Vidya
endeavor to appreciate the same and aspire to create a milieu which honors our rich
cultural heritage, expresses concern for the environment, is open to innovation in the
teaching learning process and holds a futuristic perspective.
Our E –Magazine, is a collection of myriad experiences of learning that we cherish
and desire to save in our memory bank for years to come. I take this opportunity to
thank my Editorial Team in encapsulating the ‘Kodak Moments’ beautifully and
justifying the title of the magazine. ‘ Perspective’.

From the Editor’s Desk “If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.”
Wayne Dyer It gives me immense pleasure to present before you the first edition of our school magazine “Perspective”.
We at The SD Vidya School, believe in nurturing our children, so that they can be catalysts of change, and give
a whole new dimension and perspective to the human race for achieving the impossible!
‘Perspective’ is a humble beginning towards unleashing and showcasing the potential of our students, a vent
to the creative minds to express their ideas and thoughts, a labour of love, nurtured with utmost care and
dedication. Needless to say a little step taken every day builds up the hope of greater accomplishments.
For this edition of the school magazine I would like to convey my heartfelt gratitude and thanks to our
Honourable Chairman, Mr. R.K. Madan Sir, our inspiration, the Principal Ms. Kavita Nath who has been a
beacon of light, guiding and holding our hands as we traversed this path from inception to culmination. My
sincere thanks to the Editorial teams, both of students and teachers who worked tirelessly and with conviction
for the fructification of our goal. For us the journey has just begun, and it is with your support and cooperation
that we seek to make it more interesting and challenging in the years to come. To paraphrase Dr. Abdul Kalam,,
we have to ‘ignite the minds of the children’, once that happens the sky will be the limit for growth and
success! And as I said earlier this is just a small step in this direction………..
If you nurture your mind, body, and spirit, your time will expand.
You will gain a new perspective that will allow you to accomplish much more.

AMAZING FACTS
• Star fish can move its stomach in every direction.
• There is this amazing hybrid plant of potato and tomato. It produces tomatoes above the ground and potatoes underground.

FAILURE IS GOOD FOR SUCCESS Positive Thinking in Life
Positive thinking is the way for a happy,
successful and healthy-wealthy life. People
with a positive attitude make our life
brighter. People with positive frame of mind
think about possibilities, growth and success.
They also think in terms of ‘I can’, ‘I am able’,
‘I will succeed’ . For a positive person failure
is not a shameful matter. It is the best lesson
to become successful. Positive thoughts are
not enough. There should also be positive
feelings and positive action. With a positive
attitude you can inspire and motivate yourself
to do greater things. Sometimes your positive
attitude can also change others behavior.

Oh! My angel,
Oh! My dear
At the time of my helplessness
At the time of my fear,
For helping always you only appear
In my hard times you supported me,
With sweet gestures of love and care.
It’s a hearty wish you live 100 years
I’m afraid to lose you in this cruel era,
With my tiny eyes loaded with tears.
A poor life is full of care,
We don’t have time to stand and stare
But for cleaning someone’s tear,
Like an angel you are there,
All the time and everywhere.

Reading Books Reading books is a very good habit. Reading
different kinds of books develops a love for everyone in us.
Books take us to another level. While reading, we forget everything around us. They not only give information but also add to our knowledge and entertain us. Books on adventure, journey, history and science tell us about places and things that we have never seen or heard before. There are books on poetry, drama, fiction and literature that help us to improve our vocabulary, language skills and imagination. A book is a storehouse of information and is a man’s best friend.

VALUE OF DISCIPLINE
Discipline means order. One cannot lead a healthy life without discipline. Even nature has its discipline. As a citizen we have to discipline ourselves and obey the laws of the society. For students, discipline is very
necessary. They should come to school regularly. They should work with honesty. They should respect all. When there is indiscipline, one should try to find out the solution. We all see that the Sun, the Moon and the stars work under the laws of nature. They have discipline. It helps in our progress and makes our lives smooth. We must learn the value of discipline. We all should inculcate the habit of discipline.

Amazing Animal’s Facts
• House flies don’t allow their short lifespans (14 days) to hinder their musical abilities. They always hum in the key F.
• Ostriches can run faster than horses, and the male ostriches can roar like lions.
• Bats are only mammals that can fly, but wouldn’t it be awesome if humans could fly too.

“We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.”
As part of its endeavour to inculcate good moral
and ethical values in the children, to nurture
them as good human beings, The SD Vidya
School joined hands with the Rotary Club of
New Delhi in the year 2015. Ever since the
inception of the SD Vidya Rotary Interact Club,
the Interact Club and its members have been
doing a lot of activities in keeping with the
motto of the Rotary Club ‘Service before Self.’
From the year 2016, The Interact Club of the
School has been associated with the Rotary Club
of New Delhi One. The President of the Interact
Club in 2016, Rajat Rai spearheaded the mission,
along with the support of all members of making
a difference in society, by working on different
aspects such as health, environment, literacy
and women empowerment. This awareness was
spread through assemblies and a plethora of
other activities such as skits, door to door
surveys of the neighbouring areas and visits to
hospitals and old age homes and organizing
blood donation camps in school. The entire
school was involved in the collection and
donation of rice to the needy. Students learnt
some very important life lessons in the process
and were immensely satisfied and happy as they
shared their experiences with the others. The
current President, Anuja Sathpathi hopes to
build on the work done in the previous year and
work with all proud members of the Interact
Club to serve society in future. The Interact
Club of the school gives a great opportunity to
all its student members to become
compassionate and helpful human beings, the
harbingers of change, who will make the world a
better place to live in tomorrow.
