Busy month of November coming up, we have many activi- ties and school sports in full swing. Please check agendas and the school calendar to keep up with whats happening here. A special thanks to the SAC who did an excellent job organizing the Pumpkinfest which raised $2000 approxi- mately. Progress report cards will be sent home on Nov. 7 th and the week of the 11 th -14 th will be interview week, with the 12 th available for evening interviews from 3:30-7:00 p.m. Par- ents, it is very important to meet with your childs teacher to monitor student learning skills and progress, see you here soon!     Winger Schools Grades 2 through 8 will be attending Matilda at the Greg Frewin Thea-

    tre on Friday December 13th, 2019, FREE from the Carol Leppert Music Endowment

    Loading and Unloading Bus Zones

    Please do not park at anytime along the front sidewalk. This area is zoned for loading and

    unloading of the buses only. Thank you for keeping our parking lot safe.

    Emergency Medical Information

    Please inform the school of any serious allergies (asthma, bee stings, peanut, nuts, milk and medi-

    cations, etc.) or any serious health concerns. The District School Board of Niagara requires that

    you complete an “Emergency Action Plan and Physician’s Authorization” in order for medication,

    which must be signed by your child’s physician, to be given at school. These forms may be ob-

    tained from the office . If your child is no longer allergic, please notify the office.

    Hot Lunch’s at Winger

    Pizza days at Winger are Fridays, unless there is a PA Day, and then it

    will fall on the Thursday of that week. $1.25per slice. This month pizza

    days are Friday Nov. 1st, 8th, Thursday 14th, Friday 22nd, and 25th.

    ALL ITEMS CAN BE PURCHASED ON SCHOOL CASH ON LINE, follow the icon on the

    winger website. Or go to www.dsbn.org/schoolcash and select “register now”

    Its Book Fair Time

    Tuesday October 29th—November 1st. Come to the

    Winger Library and see whats new, don’t forget to fill out

    a ballot for your chance to win $25 in books for yourself

    and $25.00 in books for your classroom. Hope to see you

    there. Book fair will close Friday Nov. 1st after first break.

    Winger Breakfast Club

    Our Breakfast club is up and running again, and we would like to take this time to thank

    Mrs. Matthews and Mrs. Ormel and Mrs. Giesbrecht for their work in organizing every

    week. From organizing menus to volunteers, and shopping, we appreciate all they do.

    Thank you to all our volunteers that give up their mornings , to help prepare nutritious

    breakfast. Thank you and we appreciate all of you too.

    A huge thank you to Niagara Nutrition Partners who donate money so we

    can run this program for our students.

    Thanks to everyone.

    Winger Parent/Teacher interviews will be held on Tuesday

    November 12th from 3:30—7:00. Watch for interview sheets

    to come home and please return them by Friday November

    8th with your selection of times. If you’d prefer a phone in-

    terview at a different day and time, please indicate on the

    interview sheet. Also, if you feel an interview is not needed

    High School Open House and Preview Date and Times

    E.L. Crossley Secondary: November 26th - 6:00—8:00 p.m.

    Grade 8’s will be travelling to E.L. Crossley for a Grade 9 preview day

    on Wednesday November 6th.

    Port Colborne High School: November 27th - 6:00—8:00 p.m.

    Grade 8’s will be travelling to Port H.S. for a Grade 9 preview day on

    Friday November 22nd.

    Congratulations to the Intermediate Girls Volleyball Team who

    worked hard, gained many new skills and demonstrated excel-

    lent dedication and sportsmanship all season. Way to represent

    Winger! Team members include:

    O.,Peyton M.,Keralen K.,Kayla D.

    Congratulations to the Intermediate Boys Volleyball Team who

    had a fantastic regular season! They finished with 3 wins and 2 losses.

    There was tremendous growth by all of the team members. You made us all very proud! Good luck in your regional playoff tourney and the DSBN tour-nament at the end of November.

    Thank you to all of the parents and family members who supported us this season!
