Key points about Backint

• Cohesity Backint executable is installed on the SAP HANA node(s), and it integrates with SAP Tools

• When a database backup is started, Cohesity Backint executable is called by the SAP HANA database

• Backint is responsible for executing all activities needed to transfer the backup data to a secure storage location

• The data to be backed up is read by the backup tools from pipes; these pipes are supplied by the database

• In a scale-out configuration, every active host in the database may have one or more volumes to be backed up

• Multiple Backint processes will be started for a data backup, which may have to handle one or more backup objects

• A parallel log backup is started with every volume backup and gets a unique database backup ID
