campus This wonderful group of parents work effectively through their only fundraiser - the PampCrun Canteen to raise funds to support the campus Their wonderful canteen staff worktirelessly to earn the money through this one and only fundraising activity It would be great to see more parents come along to PampC and just enjoy the campuswithout the need to work on endless fundraising activities Have a think about it for2017

Big Futures Celebration This week the annual thanksgiving celebration for the mentors and coordinatingteachers for the Big Futures program was held at Mingara It was heartwarming toshare the successes of this effective student mentoring program We appreciate our mentors and do everything we can to make them feel a part of theteam at TLSC Tumbi Umbi Campus It was an honour to be able to celebrate the wonderful support given to the mentors byMiss Pace and Mrs Martin We look forward to welcoming our mentors back to the team in 2017

T20 Cricket NSW Final Our skill in cricket is growing nicely Recently our Year 7 girls played 5 games of T20and won 2 - YEAH Jade and Cailtin (Captains) turned up with a white board to organise the girls fieldingpositions and bowling and batting order - it was brilliant Every single girl came awaywith something positive whether they hit a six took a wicket or a catch So keen is theteam they want to continue to train in readiness for next year Enjoy the team photo with two NSW Breakers players - how awesome

ATSI Numeracy Day Mrs Pountney Mr Pennings and Mr Willis along with Wadalba CS hosted 7 schools in afun filled day that encouraged students to connect with mathematics and build strongrelationships with students from other schools and their teachers There is a competitive side to the day and we are proud to announce that Zac andLauren won the senior team section Our junior team had a great time and wereunlucky not to have been announced winners with their efforts We finished in the top 3schools overall and the students had a great time A special thanks must go out to Mrs Pountney who catered for the event and wasinstrumental in ensuring that the day was a huge success The work that she does withour ATSI students is amazing

Youth Frontiers The Central Coast has many programs that build leadership skills through personalchallenges and mentoring We have had Year 8 students take part in the YouthFrontiers Program Aaron won the Youth Frontiers category at Parliament House Central Coast won threecategories out of eight for Youth Frontiers We are incredibly proud of Aarons achievement

Illuminate Challenge 2016 Last week 20 of our Year 9 students took part in the Illuminate Nextgen challenge atOurimbah Campus Throughout the week they worked in small teams to createinnovative business solutions to meet the needs of issues associated with health onthe Central Coast They were competing with over 200 students from 13 other schoolsacross the Central Coast The students completed a massive amount of work but more than that demonstrated

true character in their exhibition of teamwork problem solving critical thinking inquiryand organisation It was truly humbling to see them step up and thrive during thischallenge They can be proud of themselves and can be proud to know that the workwe do with these students every day played a huge part in their ability to succeed inthis challenge A special congratulation goes to the business Seeds who deservedly took out thestudent choice award for best team

College Girls Water Polo Our amazing girls water polo team competed in the round robin comp at Wyong pool One of the most impressive moments from the day was the team spirit Thanks to allwho gave their time to lend a hand to support our girls in a jaw dropping final where weplaced second against St Josephs

AVID 2017 Induction This week we conducted the AVID induction for the Year 8 classes of 2017 We wereoverwhelmed with the support and interest from parentscarersgrandparents and evengreat grandparents that came along to help start the students on a new learningjourney We look forward to working with these students as they progress through their learningjourney

GulangFest Our students shone on the stage at the Dolphin Theatre and gave an amazingpresentation of song and dance celebrating Aboriginal culture as part of theTLLC GulangFest Thanks to Ms Williamson Mrs Mieluk Mrs Pountney Mrs Kerr and Mr Wooden for thetime given to these students and to our choreographer and teacher Darkinyungelder Gavi Duncan who shared his love and knowledge of his culture with us It wasgreat to be a part of something so special and significant It was lovely to see former Tumbi students shine on stage - Katie hosted the event andReece shared a wonderful guitar and didge performance The following students deserve our congratulations for their outstanding performances

GulangFest Our students shone on the stage at the Dolphin Theatre and gave an amazingpresentation of song and dance celebrating Aboriginal culture as part of theTLLC GulangFest Thanks to Ms Williamson Mrs Mieluk Mrs Pountney Mrs Kerr and Mr Wooden for thetime given to these students and to our choreographer and teacher Darkinyungelder Gavi Duncan who shared his love and knowledge of his culture with us It wasgreat to be a part of something so special and significant It was lovely to see former Tumbi students shine on stage - Katie hosted the event andReece shared a wonderful guitar and didge performance The following students deserve our congratulations for their outstanding performances

Big Futures Celebration This week the annual thanksgiving celebration for the mentors and coordinatingteachers for the Big Futures program was held at Mingara It was heartwarming toshare the successes of this effective student mentoring program We appreciate our mentors and do everything we can to make them feel a part of theteam at TLSC Tumbi Umbi Campus It was an honour to be able to celebrate the wonderful support given to the mentors byMiss Pace and Mrs Martin We look forward to welcoming our mentors back to the team in 2017

T20 Cricket NSW Final Our skill in cricket is growing nicely Recently our Year 7 girls played 5 games of T20and won 2 - YEAH Jade and Cailtin (Captains) turned up with a white board to organise the girls fieldingpositions and bowling and batting order - it was brilliant Every single girl came awaywith something positive whether they hit a six took a wicket or a catch So keen is theteam they want to continue to train in readiness for next year Enjoy the team photo with two NSW Breakers players - how awesome

ATSI Numeracy Day Mrs Pountney Mr Pennings and Mr Willis along with Wadalba CS hosted 7 schools in afun filled day that encouraged students to connect with mathematics and build strongrelationships with students from other schools and their teachers There is a competitive side to the day and we are proud to announce that Zac andLauren won the senior team section Our junior team had a great time and wereunlucky not to have been announced winners with their efforts We finished in the top 3schools overall and the students had a great time A special thanks must go out to Mrs Pountney who catered for the event and wasinstrumental in ensuring that the day was a huge success The work that she does withour ATSI students is amazing

Youth Frontiers The Central Coast has many programs that build leadership skills through personalchallenges and mentoring We have had Year 8 students take part in the YouthFrontiers Program Aaron won the Youth Frontiers category at Parliament House Central Coast won threecategories out of eight for Youth Frontiers We are incredibly proud of Aarons achievement

Illuminate Challenge 2016 Last week 20 of our Year 9 students took part in the Illuminate Nextgen challenge atOurimbah Campus Throughout the week they worked in small teams to createinnovative business solutions to meet the needs of issues associated with health onthe Central Coast They were competing with over 200 students from 13 other schoolsacross the Central Coast The students completed a massive amount of work but more than that demonstrated

true character in their exhibition of teamwork problem solving critical thinking inquiryand organisation It was truly humbling to see them step up and thrive during thischallenge They can be proud of themselves and can be proud to know that the workwe do with these students every day played a huge part in their ability to succeed inthis challenge A special congratulation goes to the business Seeds who deservedly took out thestudent choice award for best team

College Girls Water Polo Our amazing girls water polo team competed in the round robin comp at Wyong pool One of the most impressive moments from the day was the team spirit Thanks to allwho gave their time to lend a hand to support our girls in a jaw dropping final where weplaced second against St Josephs

AVID 2017 Induction This week we conducted the AVID induction for the Year 8 classes of 2017 We wereoverwhelmed with the support and interest from parentscarersgrandparents and evengreat grandparents that came along to help start the students on a new learningjourney We look forward to working with these students as they progress through their learningjourney
